Chapter 1: Birds Eye Veiw

Chapter Text

He knew there was a game afoot. Rarely was such kindness shown in hell and it wouldn’t be the first time that someone had used Charlie to get to him. She ran up to him singing the praises of her ‘allies’ in the battle of the hotel and the only person he could maybe understand was Carmilla Carmine. He genuinely liked the cold and calculating arms dealer, mainly because he knew where she stood on the whole of getting directly involved with heaven. She had daughters to protect and for that he respected her.

The other two overlords involved with Charlie however... Alastor he just flat out doesn’t like. The slimy smile he refuses to leave behind has Lucifer’s skin crawling and while he’d never personally met Rosie, the cannibal overlord. According to Charlie she “was so nice and she listened to me talk about me and Vaggie. She’s just a really good lady.” That statement alone should have had Lucifer breaking down her door that instant. But… That’s how he handled things a centuries ago….. He couldn’t keep in good graces with his daughter if he went around interrogating all of her ‘friends’.

He needed to be smart about this.

So Alastor was his best bet. He decided to tail him on a whim one day. He was overlooking the balcony from his new room in the hotel when he saw the radio demon heading out for the evening. In the blink of an eye he took off in the shape of a little white bird sailing through the air silently and well above the demon so as to not tip him off. To his surprise his luck was holding out as he flew behind Alastor all the way into Cannibal town. The hardest part of being stealthy here was to not sing his little heart out as he often did as a bird. He swooped and flapped like any other bird, artfully dogging anything that came remotely close to himself. He fallowed him all the way down to a large shop nestled in the heart of cannibal town. Rosie’s Emporium.

He knew he had to pull up short then, but lucky for him there was a tree just outside the shop that gave him a wonderful view inside. What he saw inside had him even more suspicious. A tall elegant woman in a burgundy dress and ornate hat was hugging Alastor? What was weirder is that the infuriating bastard he is was...returning the affection. They parted and talked for a moment before sitting off to the side of the shop. He shifted in his tree trying to read their expressions, but he could really only see the woman and her empty eye sockets were hard to decipher. She was also sipping tea nodding along to whatever Alastor was saying.

It was very frustrating to say the least. He flexed his wings and hopped from foot to foot. A little magic would fix this in a second and then he’d be able to hear them no problem. He was the devil after all and this was his house to play in. Rolling his neck he clacked his break together and sent out the spell and in bounced harmlessly off a faint pink barrier spell. He stared at it very confused. He repeated the process with a little more power behind it. This time the spell didn’t just slide off it shattered and rang out audibly. He quickly looked inside and nearly jumped out of his feathers to see the woman within starring right at him. He didn’t hesitate jumping from his branch hopping into flight while taking off like heaven itself was after him. What the hell was that? It had been centuries since he found sinner magic that could withstand his own let alone shatter one of his spells. This woman, who ever she is… Isn’t to be fucked with.
