The TikTok That Broke Athena
It started like any other late-night TikTok on @ghostridesla.
A beat dropped—catchy, viral, and slightly ridiculous. The camera panned to a dark alley off Sunset Blvd. Fog from a mini smoke machine spilled around two black-clad figures: one tall, one petite. Both wore full sport bike gear—leather suits, matching blacked-out helmets, and gloves.
Then they started dancing.
Perfectly in sync. Some trendy shuffle routine with hip rolls and finger points, finished off by a spin and a pose.
Their helmets were decked out in neon outlines—blue for Ghost, red for the smaller figure. On-screen, the caption read:
“Ghost & Phantom | Duo Drop | Guess who?”

The comments went feral in minutes.
“THEY ATE.”
“WHO IS PHANTOM???”
“Why is Ghost kinda… built??”
“The way they hit that body roll tho.”
“Wait. Is Phantom… his GIRLFRIEND???”
Athena Grant, L.A.P.D., Did Not Approve This Message.
She didn’t even know she was chasing them at first. A call about two bikers doing “reckless dance moves in the middle of a city intersection” had come through dispatch. Normally, not her thing.
But then her patrol car’s dashcam caught the duo turning to look at her after finishing their latest TikTok move mid-intersection.
They froze. Like deer in headlights.
Athena squinted. “...Wait a damn minute.”
The taller biker raised both gloved hands in the universal sign of panic. The smaller one did a double take and audibly shouted (through a voice modulator), “IS THAT ATHENA?!”
It was.
They ran.
Like ran ran. Not rode off. Ran on foot in full gear, hopping a curb, scrambling into a parking garage, disappearing like cartoon villains.
Athena stopped the car, got out, and glared in the direction they vanished.
“Did they just ditch bikes to avoid me?!”
Later That Night…
Buck and Maddie were hiding in his garage, helmets off, still breathless.
“We just ran from Athena,” Maddie gasped, half-laughing, half-terrified.
“She saw us dancing, Maddie! We were shuffling in traffic!”
“You were doing hip rolls!”
“You were doing body waves!”
They both dissolved into laughter again, sliding to the floor.
Buck opened TikTok. The video was already at 1.2 million views.
Top comment:
“Y’ALL RAN FROM A COP IN THE MIDDLE OF A BODY ROLL. ICONIC.”
Second comment:
“Wait… was that ATHENA GRANT???”
Buck groaned. “We’re dead.”
Maddie nodded. “Double funeral. Closed caskets. We go out as legends.”
"OH SHIT!!" Buck yelled suddenly
"what" Maddie asked confused, tilting her head
"We forgot our bikes" Buck groans with his hands on his face
Maddie just stared at him a dear in headlights stare mouth open
Bonus: Athena’s POV the Next Day
Athena scrolled through TikTok on her phone while drinking coffee. She watched the video of the dance again. Slowed it down.
Ghost’s shoulders. Phantom’s hips. The way they looked at her before bolting.
She narrowed her eyes.
“If those two aren’t Buck and Maddie,” she muttered, “I’m giving up law enforcement and becoming a cat herder.”
