Work Text:
In a still, timeless, empty, world, there is a beach of gray sand, sitting below a grey sky, being battered by gray waves. There is nothing outside of this, this is all there is. The waves, the sand, the sky. And it will never end. This will remain, forever. The strange thing is that this “ocean” is completely landlocked. Yet the waves continue to crash, even without a source.
A chunk of water rises out of the ocean, as it was always going to. Nothing could stop the water from returning to its true home. The floating blob of water splits into pieces and hovers for a moment before suddenly each piece zooms off in a different direction. Some collide with other, non landlocked, bodies of water, while others go up, reuniting with the stars. The thing sustaining life returning to the thing that began life.
One day, all the water and all the stars will meet, stretching out into an endless ocean of light that will swallow all things. The infinite shores go on forever, and ever, and ever…
Stars crash to earth as sea crashes to stars.
(Forever and ever and ever)
