Summary
The canon of The Mechanisms is notoriously gory. Practically every major character dies, and often dies cosmically and horribly. Even the Mechanisms themselves, theoretically immortal though they are, die in the end. As storytellers highly concerned with death, a number of questions and complexities arise during their stories. I believe the Mechanisms canon can be interpreted as a decade-long exploration of meaning in death and the answers to these questions.

Summary
15 years have passed since the destruction of Yggdrasil by the Bifrost- Yog-sothoth- whatever you prefer. 15 years since Lyfrassir had to flee their home, and with a shattered heart. 15 years since Marius had to leave behind someone he should have gone back for, and doesn't know if they're alive or dead.
But neither one of them forgot each other.
15 years later they come back together.
