Vernon watches him, taking his time before shrugging a shoulder. “We do the same.”

The next day, Seungkwan wins the match. He’s the world champion. It’s golden and glorious and everything he and Chan had been striving for.
As soon as the match is over, Seungkwan jumps in the air, waving his racket around in glee. He hears Chan from the front row let out a yell that sounds like a battle cry. He spins his head, watching Chan jump over the fence and run towards him.
Seungkwan opens his arms and Chan launches into them. They fall to the ground together. It feels good and right and complete.
