“ This year's Annual Hunt will begin in two days. Teens ages 15-18 the hunt is optional and you can always take your time when looking for a mate”
“ Please keep in mind once you reach the age of 19 you are mandated to participate in the hunt and if you emerge from the forest without a mark you will be punished “
Oikawa household
“ Tooru honey can you come down” A sweet voice said from the bottom of the stairs causing Tooru to sigh he was dreading this conversation knowing the out come
He stepped out of his room slowly, a night gown fluttering around him. He walked quickly down the stairs making sure to not trip over himself as his nerves took over his body
He knew what this was about he wouldn’t be surprised if every omega in his neighborhood was being called for the same reason
The Hunt
It was a chance for the poor to become rich and for the rich to find mates without their social status interfering
Tooru dreaded this day he had managed to escape the last three Hunts because his mother didn’t want to force him unlike others ones that said ‘it’s easier to find a mate when your still young and beautiful ‘or some other type of bullshit
Landing at the bottom of the stairs he found himself faced with both his mother and father waiting for him in the living room serious expressions on their faces
“ Come sit” His father said, gesturing to the small couch across from them. Tooru obeys wanting this to be over already
He wasn't planning on sticking around for long during the hunt he already had a plan and a few friends that would help him execute it and join him along the way
Of course no one knew but them and it would stay that way. It wasn’t unusual for Omegas not to return for fear of their punishment. They would take it a step further making sure everyone knew how crooked the system really was
“ I think you know why your here but I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt it’s not like you omegas are smart” His father said ending the statement with a snicker
This was a clear example of why Tooru hated the hunt. His mother was trapped with his father since the age of 16 when she was forced to participate his grandmother spewing some ‘your only young once’ nonsenses and guilt tripping her mother
Ever since that day his father had made it his mission to make his mothers life a living hell. His father was a wealthy man and his authority was never questioned.
When Tooru presented as an omega his father immediately started looking for potential mates but his mother intervened asking if Tooru could participate in the hunt instead giving Tooru enough time to come up with a plan
“ Everyone and their mother knows what this is about “ Tooru says already fed up with his father he was ready to leave this place once and for all
He still had to wait two days though and these would be the toughest ever
“ Stop it Tooru it’s been long enough you have to start thinking about your future” His mother said
“ Oh yes the only thing left for me to do is to spread my legs for an alpha and carry his pups then I’ll finally be worth something” he says in a monotone voice stopping himself from laughing
His father turned beef red as his scent intensified his angry seeping into every corner of the living room
“ Are you mocking us” His father said “ Am I an omega” “ huh “
“ I thought we were stating the obvious”
*SLAM*
Tooru was sent to his room to prepare for the hunt but little did his parents know that this was all part of the plan
Two days later
Tooru stepped out of his room making his way to the door not bothering to say anything to his parents as he took an apple from the kitchen before leaving
He walked through the town as he pulled up the large hood he had on to cover himself as he made his way to the entrance of the forest where he met up with his friends
“ Today’s the big day,” Sugawara said as Oikawa approached. The others around him laughed lightly alright the comment may have meant something different to the people around them it meant freedom from this cruel world for them
A loud horn blew as everyone tired to look at the man who held a piece of paper in his hand
“ Today as you all know is the Annual hunt for where the young men and women, Alphas, Beyas and omegas alike come together and fun d there forever mate “
“ A few rules you should be aware of
1.Omegas and Select Beatas will be allowed to enter the forest first. Alphas are to wait 15 minutes before entering the forest after them
2. You are not permitted to leave the forest before the three days are over and if you are caught you will be punished
3. After the hunt has concluded you are not allowed to speak about the events that took place in the forest
4. Also please keep in mind that if you emerge from the forest without a mark or mate you will be punished the most common punishment is banishment
This only applies to Omegas alphas and betas please disregard the fourth rule
That is all, Omegas and Betas prepare to leave in 5 minutes please line up in any order you like alone the edge of the forest a horn will be blown to signal your departure and a second one will sound when the Alphas and remaining bears are released

The guard finally stopped his rant snapping Oikawa from his haunt as he was dragged along by Suga standing in line next to him as their other friends filled in on either side of them each of them having a determined look on his face
He glanced over to the alphas, finding striking green eyes already tracing his figure. Tooru smirked knowing the by the time the alphas was released he would be long gone
The horn blew as they all ran into the forest leaving a small dust cloud behind them. He quickly grouped up with his friends at a large tree in the heart of the forest
“ We're really doing this, “ Shoyo says, bouncing up and down as they wait for the others to arrive. Once they all gathered they quickly started making their way to an abandoned part of the forest a clear sign posted at the front ‘ Do not go past this point danger ahead’
They ignored the sign having already made the journey through this part multiple times. They walked in slice keeping their scents hidden as they made sure to watch behind them before a voice spoke up
“ What are you all doing here” A monotone voice said blond tips visible from a large red hoodie probably not the best thing to have worn but to each there own
“ Where escaping” Shoyo said cheerfully getting a smack to the back of the head by Oikawa and scolding form Suga “ what he asked” Shoyo said rubbing the back of his head
“ Cool” The small omega said joining them “ Mind if I join I’ve been looking for a way out of this hell while as well” he says locking eyes with everyone as Suga gave a small nod before they started walking reaching the fence that kept them in the forest
They walked along the edge of the fence before Atsumu moved a piece of wood with the help of Akaashi revealing a large hole cut through the fence.
They made their way through one by one Akashi putting the piece of wood back covering the whole as the started running deeper into the forest
Green eyes watched the group of omegas disappear on the other side of the fence before voice spoke up next to them
“ are you going to stop them”
“ Why would I “
