“Hello Bobby” Athena said.
Everyone in the room looked up at each other and smiled. Then, the silence was broken. How? you ask? A phone call. Everyone whipped out their phones at the same time but it was Maddie’s whose was ringing.
“Hello?” Maddie answered, as one does when picking up a phone.
“Maddie, it’s Linda. From work. We’ve got a guy asking for you.” Linda from work said.
“Okay, put him through.” Using the magic of electricity, they were able to patch Maddie’s phone through, as they often do. One notable time was when that kid stole his dad’s car and crashed it and the dad had to be like noooooo son I love you more than a vehicle. What a shitty relationship. Anyways, they connected the calls.
“Hello? Maddie?”
“Hello 9-1-1 what is your emergency” Maddie said with a touch of annoyance, because she literally just gave birth and what the fuck?
“Help! I’m being buried alive!”
“Sir, what?!”
“Maddie, it’s me, Bobby. Bobby Nash. I’m stuck in a government facility and now they’re BURYING ME ALIVE!”
“Oh my god, Bobby!” At that response, everyone’s heads turned to Maddie. They were previously trying to give her a little privacy, but not anymore, no-no.
“Get Athena!” Bobby yelled before the call disconnected.
Maddie looked at her phone in shock. “Linda…. did you get all that?”
“Yes!!” Linda replied, typing sounds heard in the back. “And luckily, because I’m a fucking icon and everyone loves me, I was able to trace the call.”
“Omg Linda you LIFESAVER!” Maddie said, the phone now on speaker so everyone could hear.
“Sending the location through now.”
By a stroke of luck, the place where Bobby was being buried alive was literally directly under the hospital.
“Stay here, Maddie. We’ll go get Bobby.” Buck instructed.
As if Maddie wasn’t going to stay there, Number one: Not a firefighter or police officer. Number two: Just gave birth. Yet, Eddie still nodded.
“Smart thinking, Buck!”
They (read: Athena, Buck, Chim, Eddie, Hen, and Ravi) ran to the stairs and then ran down the stairs like really fast. When they reached the bottom they noticed a locked door. Because they’re firefighters, they all decided that they should kick it at the same time to try to break it down. (It was a really big door and would look good for the shot) So, on the count of three, they kicked and the door flew open.
They all stepped inside and the sight they were greeted with was two men in white coats piling a shit ton of dirt into a hole. Which looked extra odd because it was literally just a rectangular hole in an otherwise concrete floor, that they were packing dirt into.
“What are you doing!?” Hen demanded.
“Uh, gardening?” One of the white coat dudes tried.
“No. I’ve done gardening and this is Not It!” Buck confirmed.
“Ummm…” The white coats didn’t have a response to that so they just scowled.
“Put your hands up!” Athena ordered, having taken her civilian clothes off and revealing her uniform underneath like superman.
“No!” White coat dude 2 refused.
“Then SADDLE UP!” Eddie said, a catchphrase he picked up in Texas. He looked over at Buck and Ravi and nodded.
Buck and Ravi ran forward and did some really cool moves and knocked the men over and then they held their hands behind their back while Athena handcuffed them. She said they were being arrested for attempted murder because that’s all they could prove at the moment.
Then Chim ran forward and started digging the dirt out of the hole. Eddie and Hen ran forward and followed Chim’s lead, also getting the dirt out.
Ravi and Buck got two chairs which they tied the men to and then they, plus Athena, also went to dig.
Soon, they found the coffin and lifted it up out of the hole because they’re firefighters and strong, okay?
When they placed it on the ground, Athena opened the lid and Bobby blinked up at her.
“Oh thank GOD. It was getting hot in there and my phone is only on 8%.” Bobby said showing his screen to everyone.
“I missed you, Athena” Bobby said, and then reached up and embraced her. It was a beautiful sight.
“I missed you too, my husband” Athena replied, making a mental note to take their house off the market.
“Let’s get out of here.” Bobby said, standing up.
They all agreed and they made their way to the stairs. Instead of walking up them all, they only went to ground floor and then they walked out and got into the elevator to go up to the maternity ward.
When they got up there, they all went into the room with Maddie and the baby, and Chim said “Bobby, meet Robert.” Even he cringed as he said it. An awkward silence filled the air. “You know what, now that you’re alive.. maybe we should change the name. Like, it doesn’t really match Jee’s name at all and a baby called Robert has always creeped me out as a concept” Chim confessed. It’s as if he read my mind.
Maddie quickly agreed, stating they could use Robert as a middle name. And they decided on a name which fit their family much better.
While everyone was cooing over the baby, and rejoicing at Bobby’s return, Buck and Eddie slipped out of the room.
“Buck, I have something to tell you.” Eddie said.
“Me too… You go first.” Buck replied.
“Okay, um, I’m kinda nervous, can we go at the same time?” Eddie asked.
“Good thinking.” Buck praised. “Three… Two… One!”
“I don’t want to move out!” Buck said at the same time as Eddie said “I’m in love with you!”
Eddie turned bright red, a shade unimaginable, a shade previously thought to be unachievable.
“You’re.. in love with me?” Buck asked Eddie
“Yes…” Eddie said, shyly, looking like a princess.
“But, you’re straight…?”
“What? No I’m not.”
“What do you mean?”
“I’m gay. Figured it out in Texas”
“Oh, well, in that case,” Buck began “I’m in love with you too.”
“You are????”
“Yes Eddie, I am.”
Eddie was silent for a moment. “I don’t want you to move out either.”
They looked at each other and Buck searched for something in Eddie’s face before he said “Okay. So I won’t.”
Eddie nodded and leant forward and kissed Buck. When they broke apart, they were both blushing.
“Best kiss I’ve had in a hospital!” Buck said, referring to how he also kissed Tommy in a hospital and it was shit because Tommy is not only a shit person but also a shit kisser.
“Omg LOL!” Eddie replied.
They grabbed each other’s hands and walked back into the room. Everyone looked up at them.
“You know these walls aren’t soundproof, right?” Hen asked.
Maddie was smiling up happily at them while Chim was holding their son and doing the same. Bobby and Athena had their hands joined and were looking like proud parents. Ravi had his arms crossed and was looking smug.
“Alright, everyone, I expect the payment by Monday.” Ravi said, and everyone else groaned.
“Payment?” Eddie asked
“For the bet…” Chim said, now cranky cause he realised he didn’t win.
“You bet on us!?” Buck exclaimed.
“Yep,” Ravi confirmed and walked over to pat Bucks shoulder “And I am now much richer.” Because, despite what everyone believes, Ravi is the most observant, and he also is very good at making money. Of course he would win, despite the fact that he was previously of the belief they were divorced.
“Whatever,” Buck said, “I’m just happy we’re all together. Well.. almost all of us.”
At that point all the kids walked in, jumping with joy and buzzing with excitement ready to meet Baby Boy. Jee rolled her eyes when she realised her parents weren’t joking about it not being a baby sister. Chris walked up to Buck and Eddie and congratulated them on their relationship. He warned them both to be good to each other and not cheat with any dead doppelgängers. The boys agreed and smiled at each other.
Hen and Karen cleared their throats.
“We have an announcement!” Hen said.
“We have adopted Mara!!!!” Karen finished and cheers and other celebratory sounds filled the room.
Then Albert walked in and excitedly greeted his nephew before turning and kissing Ravi, effectively announcing their relationship.
May walked in with her girlfriend and informed everyone she was a lesbian. They were all pumped.
Bobby looked around the room and smiled because he was alive and so was everyone he loved.
