Summary
The following excerpt was taken from the journals of Lady Roxanne Dayne during the reign of King Viserys I:
—Amara Hightower, had been the third daughter of Otto Hightower by his second wife, Aynara Tyrrel. The young woman was beautiful, so much so that the people of King's Landing had dubbed her "The Rose of Oldtown." She had been Queen Aemma's lady, or rather, her ward, since the age of seven. If the Arryn woman was at one side, it was likely that the young Hightower would be at her side, which made the red-haired girl become attached to the queen and, thus, to the rest of the royal family.
"First the yellow dragon, then the red dragon and finally the blue-green dragons. The Rose surrounded by dragons, ready to breathe fire for her."
—Helaena Targaryen to Alicent Hightower
