Summary
Everybody knows that Burdock Everdeen and Lenore Dove are up to no good when they’re outside of town.
It’s easy to start guessing and wondering then deciding that those so-called ‘jobs’ that both Burdock and Lenore Dove supposedly have outside of the city is nothing but hocus-pocus.
In the newspapers, all that everyone seems to talk about is about these two new bandits that have been robbing people blind near the Appalachian Mountains.
Besides, all the money (which has bought a nice two story house with enough space for a large family and a lot of other nice stuff) that Burdock and Lenore Dove have sent back home to Haymitch, Asterid, and the rest of the Covey is far too much to have been earned with a legitimate job.
At this point, it’s as good as an open secret to everyone in town that Burdock and Lenore Dove have become a pair of infamous bandits.
