"I'll come pick you up at 3pm ^v^"
Midori read his text again, waiting for the last minute to pass. He was perhaps a tiny bit too excited and came to Tomoya's house early, but he really couldn't wait. He even got his boyfriend a bouquet of roses on the way! It wasn't too big, nor was it overly decorated, consisting only of red roses along with a few white ones, wrapped in clear plastic with a pink ribbon. Finally 3pm came, and so, Takamine put his phone in his pocket, then knocked on the door. He took a deep breath before smiling, holding the flowers in front of himself. The door opened, but instead of seeing his boyfriend, he saw a girl. Tomoya's sister. Midori quickly hid the bouquet behind himself, though a little too late for Tomoya's sister to not see it.
"Is... Um... Is Mashiro-kun home...?" He asked quietly, looking away with an embarrassed blush. Tomoya's sister turned around for a second and called for her brother.
"Nii-san, it's for you!" Midori swore he could hear Tomoya fumbling to get down the stairs without falling off of them, yet being quick enough to get down. When he finally approached the door, Midori could see he was still in his pajama, blushing even more than Takamine himself.
"C-come in, Takamine!" Mashiro said, letting him in. "I-I'm so sorry, I overslept, I'll be ready in a few minutes, feel free to wait in my room!" He then quickly ran up the stairs, trying his best to finish dressing up as fast as he could. Midori decided to take Tomoya's offer, not wanting to risk his parents finding out about any of this, especially since he still had the bouquet in his hands. Mashiro's room was exactly the same as he remembered it, nice and tidy with some Hokuto merch here and there. It was a bit depressing seeing all of it, but he couldn't really do anything about it. Looking around a bit more made Midori notice some more things. Photos of Tomoya with their class, some older ones with Hajime, and some merch of Takamine himself. It was embarrassing seeing that, but he couldn't really say anything about it. After all, he had a small collection of Mashiro plushies in his room. He thought about maybe putting a framed photo on his desk, but that would probably be a bad idea... Finally Tomoya came back into his room, dressed casually, just as Midori was. The boy looked at his taller boyfriend, still looking sorry for oversleeping.
"Mashiro-kun... Um... This is for you..." Takamine said, finally showing him the roses. They both stood in silence for a while, both flushed with red, as they never really went as far as to get the other flowers. Tomoya hesitantly took the flowers from him, giving him the slightest of pecks on the cheek before responding.
"Th... Thank you, Takamine... They're beautiful..." Mashiro said while looking away. The following silence was awkward to say the least. "I should probably get them some water... But first-" He added, then moving a bit towards Midori. He looked nervous, and his boyfriend immediately knew what he wanted to do. A kiss. They didn't really do it often, so no wonder he was feeling unsure. Takamine decided to move a little as well, making their breaths mingle, as they inched closer and closer to each other's lips. They were almost there, and yet...
"Mom wanted to let you know there's some cake left for you downst-" The door opened, making Tomoya jump away, completely red, almost crushing the roses as he fell back.
"AAAH, Why are you here?! Didn't I tell you to knock first?!" Midori just looked away, unable to make himself talk due to the shock of being found out.
"...I thought you liked Hoku-"
"That's already in the past! B-besides, we're just friends! Right Takamine?" A typical deflection for them. Midori just nodded, despite how obvious it was they were dating.
"Takamine, was it? Take care of my brother, okay?"
"Leave!" Mashiro seemed to be on the verge of exploding from embarrassment with how red he was. Finally his sister decided to leave them alone, giving them time to cool off. "Uuu, I'm so sorry Takamine..."
"It's... It's alright... It was bound to happen eventually... I think..."
"Maybe? I don't know..."
"Don't worry, everything will be alright..." Midori sat down next to Tomoya and gave him a small kiss on the forehead to try and cheer him up. Mashiro laughed quietly, slightly leaning into Takamine.
"Yeah... Maybe next time I'll just pick you up instead." He said, giving his boyfriend a kiss on the cheek. "Now come on, we still have a date to go on!" Tomoya stood up with a smile, before dragging the now standing Midori out of his room, and to the front door, both of them chuckling between themselves as they thought of anything else that could happen during their date.
