Chapter Text
Our story starts in Poseidon’s palace. He was moping around his house after having been exposed to cute couples, and being reminded of how lonely his life had become. Being so bored and needing a distraction, he decided to roam around, finding himself in his garage. There, he finds a lone charioteer, Nerites, climbing out from under his chariot.
“Hey!” Poseidon calls out, catching Nerites’ attention. “How's the chariot? I know I don’t use it often, and I want to make sure it’s in good repair.”
“Hey there!” Nerites replied, leaning a bit on the chariot. “It’s been… interesting, but I’m pretty sure it’s all fixed now.”
His words intrigued Poseidon, as he’d never understood how his chariot worked. And, y’know, he’s bored.
“What do you mean, interesting?” he asked, genuinely curious.
“Well, because you don’t really use it, it’s been getting rusty and the chariot parts were starting to break down,” Nerites explained, smiling brightly. “But I’ve decided to dedicate some time to fixing it.”
“Well if I had reasons to use it, like my family actually WANTING to see me...” Poseidon muttered under his breath, prompting Nerites to stifle a laugh. “I'm glad it's fixed,” he then said, smiling at Nerites.
“Why don’t you take it for a spin?” Nerites suggested, nudging Poseidon’s arm. “I kinda wanna make sure nothing else is broken.”
Poseidon agreed, having nothing else to do, and nowhere else to be.
