“You could use your quirk to steal stuff, and no one will know it was you! You would be such a creepy villain, you could be called Ghost boy, or invisible freak for your villain name,” a random student told him with a smug grin on his face. Jimmy just wanted to sit in his seat in class. Not even doing anything. But I guess that what he got to have an invisibility quirk. Jimmy looked up and stared at the student. “I- uhh, I guess…” He mumbles, not wanting to engage with the conversation or even acknowledge what the random student was saying to him. He didn’t really care, at least not to most people, but deep down he really cared. Getting called a villain, isn’t really a god image on him, especially with his parents being pro heroes. You would think people would like him more because his parents are Pros, but nope, not in Jimmy’s case.
Of course, it wasn’t he wasn’t really paying attention till he heard another student, “–nice! He could be a hero as well, it would make it easier for him to defeat villains without people knowing where he is” defending Jimmy. The kid laughed, “Jimmy Solidarity? A hero? If he became a hero, all he would be good at is making it harder for the other heroes.” The kid retorted. The two kids began fighting back and forward in front of Jimmy. Gosh, how badly Jimmy wanted to use his quirk at that moment and disappear. But rules at Evo Middle school, they weren’t able to use them. “Hey Tim” Martyn pokes him in the shoulder.
Jimmy made a small squeal and turns to face Martyn, scolding him, “Martyn!” He huffed. Martyn laughed, “Are you still planning to try getting into UA?” he asked the dirty blonde, watching him pause for a moment before answering, “Maybe… I don’t know” he scratched the back of his neck. “How bout this, I come over, and we can both apply at the same time!” Martyn tells him, grinning. Jimmy nods, not having anything else to say.

“TIMMY! HURRY UP!” Martyn calls out at the end of the school day, rushing out the school gates. “Slow down!” Jimmy catches up to him. “I just had PE, you know how much energy that takes out of me!” Jimmy complains, now walking besides Martyn, as they start walking to the Solidarity’s home. “Did you message G and Lizzie, about how I’m coming over?” Martyn asks Jimmy, whilst they walk.
“Uhhh- I think so” Jimmy responds, not actually sure if he remembered to messaged his siblings about Martyn coming over. Martyn shakes his head and sighs, “God damn it, Tim” They continued walking and chatting about how their day went, “I’m telling you, you are freaking gaslighting me or something, you’re telling me you two aren’t together???” Jimmy looks at his best friend, as they started talking about Netty, and Martyn said they weren’t together. “We aren’t I’m not lying” Martyn says. Jimmy just stares at Martyn, “There is no way, you two aren’t together!” Jimmy says unaware and bumps into a sign as he was looking at Martyn, trying to make sure he wasn’t lying or gaslighting him. “Ow!” Jimmy grunts, making Martyn laugh, “You damn idiot.”
“Shut up…” Jimmy mutters embarrassed. As the two walked the rest of the way home. Jimmy grabs his key off his carabiner and unlocks the door, going inside, “I’m home!” Jimmy calls out. “Jimmy!” Lizzie was first to come to the door, and hugs him, “How was school? Oh! Martyn, I didn’t know you were coming over” She asked him, then turned to Martyn, surprised by his sudden appearance.
“Hi, Lizzie, Timmy and I were talking about applying to UA at the same time, and I decided we can do it at the same time- speaking of UA, where is Grian?” Martyn asks. “Gosh, who knows, that man is like everywhere but nowhere at the same time” Lizzie shakes her head. “What about me?” Grian stood at the top of the stairs, like he had a six sense or something, that he was able to know that someone was talking about him. “Grian, hi, Jimmy & Martyn are thinking of starting to Apply to UA” Lizzie tells him, as she watched him start walking down the stairs. “Awww! My baby brother is all grown up!” Grian grins, as he messes up Jimmy’s hair, and Jimmy pushes his hand off him. “Grian!” Jimmy grumbles.
Lizzie turns back to Jimmy, repeating a question she asked mere minutes ago, “So how was your day?” Jimmy looked back at Lizzie, no longer scowling at Grian for being annoying, “It was okay, the usual how a day goes for me” Jimmy tells her. “Some dickhead was calling him a villain again” Martyn tells them. “Martyn!” Jimmy shouts at him, not wanting to tell Lizzie and Grian that. His two older siblings frown. “Jimmy, you need to tell the teacher” Lizzie tells him.
“The teacher doesn’t listen” Jimmy retorts, and it was true no matter how hard he tried telling, the teacher just pushed it to the side, saying just not to listen to them, or saying they’re just joking around. “Tim, if this ever leads to physical, remember what I taught you” Grian tells him. “I’m not going to fight another student, Grian!” Jimmy tells him, and drags Martyn to his room, “We are going now, don’t bother us!” Jimmy tells his siblings to leave him and Martyn along. The pair heads into Jimmy’s room, and Jimmy chucks his bag on the floor, and Takes out his laptop, as so does Martyn he puts his bag on the floor and takes out his laptop. They both sit down on Jim’s bed and searches up UA application forms. “Hey, Tim, have you got an Idea on what you want your hero costume to look like?” Martyn turns to Jimmy, as he was looking through the stuff he needed to put on the application form, one of them being what do you want your hero costume to look like.
Jimmy shrugs not looking up at him, “Maybe something simple, I don’t know, because my quirk just makes me invisible, I don’t see the point in making a hero costume.” Martyn stares at him blankly, “But like what if you aren’t invisible any longer? Don’t you want a costume still?” Jimmy stops and looks up, and turns to face Martyn. “I- well, I guess maybe, But I could honestly just wear the UA PE uniform” Jimmy tells him, not really caring about possibly having a hero costume. Martyn gasped, looking at Jimmy like he just witnessed a crime, “WHAT!?” Jimmy stares at him, confused, on why he was making it such a big deal.
“Are you crazy?! A hero costume is for people to remember you, and be like it the invisible hero! No one is going to remember you if you just wear UA uniform, what happens after you finish UA? You’ll look stupid wearing the UA PE uniform” Martyn tells him, trying to explain why it was a big deal, not just something to make yourself look cool. It being for people to remember you.
Jimmy rubs his neck, “I don’t know If I want to be remembered, I think I’d rather be an underground hero, or something” Jimmy mutters, as much as he was an extrovert, his quirk wasn’t as flashy as other peoples, so he’d rather stay an underground hero. Martyn frowns, “Timmy! C’mon, have some fun!” He tells him. “I don’t even know what kind of hero costume I would even want” Jimmy tells him.
“Ooh! You could match Lizzie & Grian, you can go after your family name!” Martyn suggested. Jimmy looks back down at his screen. “I don’t know… I don’t know If I’’m worthy of being put at such high standards, Lizzie and Grian…” Jimmy talks down on himself. Martyn huffs, “Timmy, you are worthy of your title as a Solidarity, stop talking down on yourself” Martyn wacks him on the back of Jimmy’s head.
“Ow!” Jimmy rubs where Martyn wacked him. “You didn’t need to hit me” Jimmy glared at Martyn. “I’ve already got a hero name idea as well, once we get to choose our hero names!” Martyn tells Jimmy, as he puts his laptop to the side. “And what’s that? Easedropper?” Jimmy asks him, rolling his eyes as he says Easedropper as a hero name, as Martyn was known for eavesdropping on people’s conversation so much. “Haha, very funny. But no, I want to call myself Earz, with a ‘Z’!” Martyn puts his hands on his hips.
“Of course you’re even going to spell it with a ‘Z’ instead of a ‘S’ like a weirdo” Jimmy shakes his head. “Hey!” Martyn puts his hands to his side, “At least I know what I’m going to make my hero costume!” Martyn retorts back. Jimmy goes back to looking at his laptop, finishing his application, not caring. Finally, up to the bit to upload his hero costume. “Lizzie!” Jimmy calls out to his older sister. After a few minutes, Lizzie headed to her younger brother’s room, “Yes, Jimmy?” Lizzie stands at her brother’s door.
“Do you know where Dad’s Hero costume design sheet?” he looked at Lizzie, who was standing by his door. “Uhmm, I think it’s in his and Mum’s room, why are you asking?” she says, asking what he needs it for. “I- well, I thought It would be nice– Martyn thought it would be nice if I went after our family name, and I want to make my hero costume kind of like Dad’s” Jimmy explains to her. Lizzie gives a small smile, “awww! Jimmy!” She acts like a proud older sister. “Shut up!” Jimmy says, embarrassed as she says that. “I’ll go get it for you” Lizzie tells him, leaving the entrance of Jimmy’s room, heading to their parent's room. Jimmy takes a deep breath, why did Lizzie have to be so embarrassing. Especially in front of his friends. “Sometimes I’m so grateful that I don’t have siblings” Martyn points out, holding his laugh. As he watched Jimmy getting treated like that from his siblings.
“I already have my hero costume design done” Martyn says, as he uploads it to the application form. “I’ll wait for you to finish, then we can send it at the same time” he tells Jimmy. After 10ish minutes, Lizzie returned with a copy of their dad’s hero costume, “Are you going to have the exact same, or are you going to change some bits in the costume?” Lizzie asks him.
“I- maybe, I’ll probably replace the greens with some light blues or maybe some yellows” Jimmy takes the copy of their dad’s hero costume. “You should add something to make it stick out more, Timmy” Martyn suggests. “Ooh! You could add a bow like mine!” Lizzie proposes. Jimmy looks at Lizzie, “No, that’s so embarrassing…” She tells her. “You said you’d rather be an underground hero, just like your parents what if you have a mask-” Martyn gets cut off by Lizzie, “A mask just like Grian’s!” She says excited, at the mention of Grian he suddenly appeared. “Ooh, you're going to be like your cool older brother?” Grian smirked, as Lizzie jumped when she got jumpscared by him.
“GRIAN! Stop appearing out of nowhere” Lizzie pouts. Grian, Martyn and Jimmy laughed. “You have a problem” Martyn points out. “I swear, you are like a ninja, sneaking up on people and appearing out of nowhere.” Jimmy adds. He wouldn’t admit it out loud like Lizzie, but it freaked him out, whenever he would just randomly appear, he would always appear when someone mentions him. Like he had some six sense or something. “But yeah, I might get a mask or something similar, it might be cool, or like a hood or something, that can go over my head” Jimmy scratches his head. Jimmy goes onto his device to copy the design onto it, so he can edit it to his liking. “Don’t worry, Tim, If you don’t like it, you can always change the design” Grian tells him, as he was currently on his first year. Lizzie who was on her second to last year already at UA, so she not only did she have her hero license, able to use her quirk outside UA, she also knew a lot more than the others did.
“Hey Lizzie, what are you planning to do after next year, when you finish UA?” Martyn asked her, curious. “I’ll probably go into our parent's Hero industry. I’m pretty sure next year, they are actually going to allow students to do their hero Interns there, maybe Jim you could do that” Lizzie answers. Martyn nods, “hero Interning, that’s going to be fun. We also have the sports festival! I’m so looking forward to that” Martyn says. “Didn’t you come in the top three or something, G?” Martyn asked. Grian nods, “I was so close to coming first this year, but Scar swooped in at the last second, when we did our final” Grian recalls the sports festival this year.
“Hey, Tim, perhaps you could get first! Next year!” Grian says. “That’s if I get into UA-” Jimmy says, finishing up his details of his hero costume, which he was changing up from his dad’s hero costume. “I still need to pass the writing and physical exam” He mutters. “Jimmy, if I made into UA hero course, you can also do it, I believe in you” Lizzie goes over to him and pats his head. Jimmy looks up from his screen, “Thanks Lizzie” Jimmy gives her a small smile, before looking back down and uploads the hero costume. “Done” Jimmy says and the pair of them both click submit.
Jimmy fell back onto his back, a bunch of feeling coursed through his body, scared, paranoia, regret, and a bit of relief. “Now your favourite part, studying” Lizzie clasped her hands together, and Jimmy let’s out an overexaggerated whine. “You’ll do fine, it’s not that hard” Lizzie tells him. “I really hope so–” Jimmy stared at the roof, of his room.

The Next day and last day at Middle school, Jimmy and Martyn sat next to each other in their home room class, chilling, because they had home room class next. “Netty” Jimmy looked around Martyn, where Netty was sitting beside him. “Yes, Timmy?” Jimmy looked at her for a moment, “Are you going planing to go to UA?” He asked. Netty paused, thinking for a moment before responding, “Maybe, I don’t think I want to go into the hero course though, I might just apply for general studies” She responds to him. Jimmy nods, “What about you, Timmy?” She asked, Jimmy nods, “Me and Martyn applied to the hero course at UA yesterday” he tells her. “Congrats you two” Netty smiles, at the two, “Another question-” Jimmy decides to ask Netty instead, as he didn’t trust Martyn. “Yes?” Netty looks at Jimmy, curious on what he was going to ask her.
“Are you and Martyn dating?” he finally asks. Netty’s eyes widen, and her face goes slightly red, “Me? I- Dating- Us? I uhhh–” Netty stares at Martyn, for a moment. “I wouldn’t say we are officially dating- but I guess kinda?” Netty says, as her bush baby tail slightly moves. Jimmy looks at Martyn noticing his face and gives a smug smirk, “Aww, congrats you two” he tries to hold back his laughter, seeing his best friend’s face that red.
Just as Martyn was about to snap back at him, the bell rang and people started heading into class. “Hello everyone, as you all know it’s the last day of school, which means you have schools to be applying to and a future ahead of you!” The teacher sounded way too enthusiastic for the last day, usually she would be so monotone and bland, having no character to her. “And I’m guessing you all want to become heroes! So I’ll hope you all in the best.” Okay. Now this was getting very strange, seeing their teacher so happy is one of the strangest things they’ve witnessed all year. All the students erupting in cheering, whilst Jimmy shrunk on himself, gosh this was so embarrassing. The teacher then told the class to quiet down, and the class went back to usual, doing work and finishing their final year at Evo middle school.
“Hey, Invisible freak, you think you’re going to get in UA, don’t you?” The same student who was calling Jimmy a villain sat in front of him and turned around. “I- Well, that’s the plan” Jimmy mutters. And the student laughs, “You think a freak like you is going to get in UA? What are you, delusional or something” His laughter echoing through the room. “Hey! Shut up, leave him alone!” Martyn defends Jimmy. “Ha, it’s not like your power is any better, you’re a creep, eavesdropping on random students. You’d only use your quirk for your own entertainment!” The student made fun of Martyn, making Jimmy lift his head up, staring at the student.
“HEY! Don’t say that about Martyn!!” Jimmy snapped at him. “And what are you going to do about it? You're going to tell your parents, because you can’t do anything else but complain to your pro hero parents?” The student scoffs. “Shut up!” Jimmy shouts at them, making the students and teacher turn to their attention to him. “Solidarity! No shouting in class” The teacher crossed her arms, not impressed with Jimmy shouting. Jimmy crosses his arms, annoyed with the student. Martyn looked at Jimmy, and put his hand on his shoulder, “It’s fine Tim. Don’t get angry” Martyn tells him, not to worry or get upset with the random student. The student scoffed and turned back facing to the teacher. Jimmy grumbles to himself, annoyed with the student.

The final day was finally over, Jimmy, and Martyn waved goodbye to Netty, as the pair walked home, “You sure you don’t want to walk home with your girlfriend?” Jimmy teases. Martyn just looked at him, glaring at him, unimpressed. “Hey, Tim, Thanks for defending me by the way” Martyn says, as he looks back ahead of him watching where he was going. The dirty blonde paused for a moment then remembers what Martyn meant by that, “Oh– Yeah, no worries, just protecting my best friend y’know” Jimmy scratches the back of his head, and nods. “I’m so pumped for the hero exams!” Martyn says changing the topic. Jimmy just stares at the ground as he walks, “Yeah I guess– It’s still kind of scary, Y’know, that we might get into UA, one of the largest and most popular hero schools” Jimmy admits.
“Hey, don’t worry, You’ll do great!” Martyn pat his back, trying to cheer him up. “And once we are done at UA, we could be teammates together! And do crime together!” Martyn grins. Jimmy giggles, “Yeah, maybe, just as long as you don’t get distracted by Netty” he teased. “HEY!” Martyn shouts, as he watches Jimmy dart off, “I’ll get you!” Martyn chases Jimmy.
