Summary
A Chemical AU - when a virus hits the west coast and San Diego is suddenly overrun by the infected dead, Tom, Pop, Chris, Cara, Anja, and the two babies escape to the cabin in Big Bear to make their last stand against the zombie hordes. When the situation grows dire, Tom entrusts his best friend Chris with the sacred task of getting Anja and the girls to safety, leaving himself and Cara and Pop behind to cover their escape. Separated for almost a year as the pandemic dies out and not knowing whether each other is dead or alive now, Tom makes his way south on foot in search of his reason for living. Will he find her again?
Takes place a few years into Chemical's future, though it doesn't belong in the actual Chemical timeline - it's just a side flight of fancy that I had to write. Enjoy!
Originally written in April 2016. I felt it was appropriate to bring this back now, in March 2020, because...well, because it fits. And we all could use a happy ending right about now :)

Aww that was another great diversion after a frankly weird as fuck & stressful day (that thankfully ended ok) & also my kids & I all played Fallout & loved "Shaun of the Dead" - so have had some weird dark coping humour for recent events.
