Take my hand

Summary:

V1 x reader where the two dance together because my madness for the character is killing me.

English is not my first language so if you don't understand the terrible aberration that came out of my head I'm sorry.

Chapter Text

The lab was silent.

The white, sterile walls seemed to shine even brighter under the artificial lights, reflecting a coldness that mirrored the fate awaiting you both.

Inside the quiet laboratory, it was just you and your practice partner, V1. You were there with no orders to follow, no tasks assigned by scientists or engineers—only the weight of waiting hanging in the air.

There was nothing left to do. No more training. No more goals to reach or surpass. Only borrowed time for the two of you.

And then, a melody played through the lab's old speakers. The first few notes rose gently, building up to the entrance of the voice that would carry the song.

Till you heard a man's voice:

“Wise men say

Only fools rush in…”

You noticed how V1 turned toward you, and without making a single sound, extended a hand, waiting for you to take it.

Your fingers slowly reached for his, and with a gentle pull, V1 led you to the center of the room, where there was nothing but open space and the distant echo of the melody slowly filling the air.

“But I can't help falling in love with you.”

One of his hands moved to rest on your waist, while the other gently held yours, and your arm gradually found its place around his shoulder.

V1 led the dance; his movements were slow and deliberate, as if trying to memorize every detail, every gesture, every second with you.

There was no calculated precision, no effort to be efficient—just a simple desire: to be together.

“Shall I stay?

Would it be a sin…

If I can't help falling in love with you?”

You let yourself be carried by the song, feeling the soft sway of your steps, how your bodies moved in perfect harmony without needing to look at each other or practice beforehand. You could hear the faint whirring of V1’s fans working to keep him cool, and you realized your own fans were doing the same.

It was something that, if you had a mouth, would’ve made you smile.

“Like a river flows

Surely to the sea

Darling, so it goes

Some things are meant to be.”

You knew what came next.

You both did.

When the humans in charge of supervising them arrived, they would shut them down and abandon them somewhere, simply because they were no longer useful — their existence was no longer necessary.

And you... You didn't want to forget this moment.

You didn’t want to remember V1 as just a weapon.

You wanted to remember him like this: dancing with you in that lonely lab—the same place where you met, where you spent most of your short lives—moving to the rhythm of an old song.

“Take my hand

Take my whole life, too

For I can't help falling in love with you.”

The outside world no longer belonged to them....

It never really did.

Soon, the lab doors would open. Soon, footsteps and voices would echo through the hallways. Soon, everything would return to its cold and logical course.

But in that moment, in your arms and with the music still lingering in the air, V1 was yours. And you were his.

You didn't know if it would remember you when it was turned off.

If he’d hold onto even the smallest fragment of this moment.

But you would.

You’d cling to it with every fiber of your being as a quiet act of rebellion against the world’s indifference.

“Like a river flows

Surely to the sea

Darling, so it goes

Some things are meant to be…”

You held onto him a little tighter.

Maybe if you stayed like that, if you held him with enough strength, time would stop.

Maybe no one would come.

Maybe you could trick fate—just for a few seconds more.

But the world kept turning.

And the end was inevitable.

When the song came to an end and the silence returned, V1 did not let go.

His arms remained around you, as if he too wanted to stop time—as if, for once, he wanted something somethimore than bloodshed.

And in that cold, white lab, two machines that were never meant to meet shared a goodbye no one would remember… except for them.
