Work Text:

Jake barely ever let himself get dragged out to these bars. He didn't drink that much, only really on special occasions… But tonight had been different than usual, and he and Sean are walking home hand in hand.

Jake's head was buzzing. It's unfamiliar– he doesn't think he's gotten drunk since highschool. The world seems to spin around him, and he grips Sean's hand tighter. For once, Sean is the one who has the upper hand, not nearly as trashed as Jake due to his higher tolerance. But don't let that fool you– Sean is still… definitely not sober.

Jake looks over to Sean. His vision is just focused on Sean's face– his peripheral blurry, and it almost causes him to trip as he barely stumbles over to catch himself.

Sean cackles at this, finding it to be the funniest thing in the world right now, almost doubling over from laughter himself.

Once Jake is stood up once more, he drives a playful elbow into Sean's gut, causing him to let out a grunt, and he shoves Jake slightly. Sean might be taller, but Jake was definitely stronger than him. He didn't stand a chance in a playful squabble, even.

Jake revisits something he didn't get to think much about. Sean's face. He takes a glance, and he's pretty lucky he's drunk already. His cheeks are flushed. Not just from the drinks now, but also the pretty boy walking home with him.

Eventually they make it back to the dorm, the bar wasn't that far of a walk from the college campus, they both get into the dorm, absolute messes. Without the usual sober mind of Jake, they both just kick off their shoes and socks, the both of them wasted and tired out of their minds.

Jake cuddles up close to Sean, the warmth of his body against Jake soothing to how cold he was. He didn't know why he was so cold.

“Shit… it's cold…” Jake mumbles out, his words a slurred mess.

Sean lets out a snort. “Dude… get a blanket…” he returns with a crooked smile.

That smile makes Jake's heart leap out of his chest, and he feels like he's melting.

“Mmm… no. Tired…” Jake murmurs.

“Well I'm too hot,” Sean complains, and pushes Jake away a little. Jake lets out a whine.

“Awwwwhh…”

“You can have the blankets n’ shit…” Sean grumbles, kicking them off.

They both settle down, not cuddling, but laying quite close. Just barely touching. The bed was small for two people– but somehow they always make it work.

Jake gets himself a front row seat to Sean's face, his eyes fixated on every movement. It was captivating, the way Sean's lips were parted as he just laid there, relaxing.

I wish I could kiss him… Jake instantly tries to push the drunkened thought from his mind.

“Whuh..? Jake?” Sean lets out a chuckle.

“Huh?” Jake mumbles.

“You said you wanted to kiss me,” Sean says.

Jake lets out a grunt. He'd meant to keep that one in his head. “I didn't mean to say that…!” He whines, rolling over onto his back.

Sean scoots a little closer. “Heeey, I didn't say no to that,” Sean smiles, his head now resting on Jake's shoulder. He giggles, and Jake's heart jumps in his chest. It hurt.

For someone who had just said he was too hot, Sean sure was transferring a lot of his body heat to Sean– the way that he was laying up against him.

Jake huffs, but draws Sean closer, enjoying the comfort of his friend. Sean is teasing him relentlessly.

“Come on, dear,” Sean smirks playfully. Jake's heart soars at the nickname. His head and heart both felt so fuzzy right now. It wasn't the first time Sean had called him that– he called him it usually as a joke. Sean's glassy eyes look into his own.

Jake decides he's going to take him up on this offer, not thinking about the possible consequences of it all. He places a hand on the nape of Sean's neck, pressing their lips together in a soft kiss.

But what Jake thought was going to be just a soft kiss, a quick peck on the lips, turned into some sort of need for… a little more. First it's Jake making the first move, pulling Sean a little closer as he hesitates to break off the kiss.

But Sean breaks it off first, but only for just a second before kissing Jake once more with twice as much energy as the last one. Jake's eyes melt shut as he kisses back. Is this what dying felt like? Because this sure was heaven.

Their lips press against each other, frantic, and desperate. Sean yanks on Jake's shirt, pulling him closer, closer, as close as the two could possibly get like this. Jake allows him to do this. He didn't care. He wanted this– wanted Sean– for so long. He was finally getting what he wanted.

Jake lets out a soft hum against Sean's lips, and they pull apart for just a second. Just to share a brief smile. Sean gives Jake another peck on the lips, and then settles against him.

Jake thinks that it's over. But just for a second, as Sean presses a soft kiss against Jake's neck. The spot feels tingly, almost numb. There's no way this was actually happening to him.

“You're so handsome,” Sean hums against his neck. Jake lets out a shaky sigh.

“You're… everything,” Jake mumbles quietly. He means it, even in this intoxicated state where he could barely think properly. Sean hears it, smiling against his neck. He presses another soft kiss to Jake's neck.

The kiss is then followed with a bite, taking Jake quite off guard. But… he didn't hate it. Especially because Sean then presses another soft kiss to the bite mark… then relaxing against him for good.

Jake finally feels like he could sleep. He felt… content. He'd always thought he'd live his life– not knowing how it felt to kiss Sean– but now he knew.

He knew– and that alone was everything to him. He drifts off into a peaceful sleep that night, his mind at ease.

Jake is brushing his hair. He has a wild hangover, and so does Sean. They'd done everything for it. He could barely remember the night before. He tilts his head to the side, to gather up his hair to put up. It always got in his face.

But… something catches his eye. A soft bruise– nothing too bad– on his neck. He touches it. “Huh…” he hums.

He had no recollection of how that'd gotten there. He definitely shouldn't go drinking out like this anymore. Especially if this was the end result.
