Eversince Winry first met Wilson, the two have been working hard together, helping one another gather resources, and fighting monsters. Since they were still getting to know more about eachother, they would ask about certain things while going out finding things.
Today, they were once again doing their resource gathering, they've hunted for quite a few hours. But, they wanted to make sure they've got everything they'd need today.
"So Wilson.. if you don't mind me asking, what did you do before you got here?" Winry asked.
"I was going to college in Oxford to get my degree yknow? Well.. let's just say I caused a huge accident inside one of the labs... and uhh.. it didn't feel right!" She said nervously.
Winry was gathering the berries inside their pouch, quite a shock to hear that Wilson had accidentally done something inside her school.
"Goodness.. it must've been a bad accident then. At least you've figured something else that fits for you right?"
She nodded in agreement. "That is true, I have figured out that I would learn things on my own, and then get myself organized for a job." Wilson added.
Wilson used the spear she made, poking it at the smaller creatures for their foods. She wasn't too sure about her answer, she still has things that she hasn't figured out yet!
"May I ask what you have done before coming here, dear Winry?" Wilson asked.
"...hehe well not to be too obvious but, I was selling my flower baskets and bouquets in my towns market. I'd take care of them and raise them to be the prettiest for everyone interested!" Her face bright with happiness, it was the dearest thing she loved to do.
Hearing about Winry's interests and how much she enjoyed it made Wilson smile, she knows how much she loves her plants.
"Ah, I can only imagine how pretty they were, and how many people were happy buying such beautiful well taken care of flowers."
She smiled happily at her words, slinging their backpack over her shoulder. "They sure did.. and seeing such happy buyers made me happy, to hear how incredible my work was. It really lifts you up y'know?" She said.
As the day passed on, the night would slowly creep up on them. A sign that it is time to head back to their base and settle down. The sound of creatures roaming around at night filled the air, and the smell of nature around them.
They put all their items away in their respective storage units, and cleaned off any excess on their clothes. To settle around the warm and alive campfire, the two felt happy, they felt safe around one another.
"We did great today! Made some progress on our storage for food and resource. You're quite helpful dear!" Wilson said cheerfully, preparing something to eat over the fire.
"Really..? Why thank you! We really do make... a great team don't we?" A hint of shyness in her voice.
She looked over from the cooking pot, "Oh don't be so shy, you do lots of great things to help. I think, you should be more confident! Everyone here enjoys your welcoming presence." Wilson said, reminding her she is just as helpful like everyone else.
Once finished, she plates up their meal for the night, handing Winry hers and taking a seat next to her.
"Wow.. you did a good job with what you made, smells wonderful!" Taking the first bite, it was immediately delicious!
She smiles warmly, surprised she likes it. "I'm glad, it's quite a shock for me to hear someone enjoy my food. I'm not the best at making things, but those rabbit morsels are quite easy to cook."
Winry happily eats away at it, having a fresh meal after so long was refreshing for the both of them. It felt better than having something that could barely make you feel full.
Wilson enjoys hers too, amazed at her own skills. They ate, talked about different experiences during the day, all while under the pretty night sky where the stars twinkled above them.
"You know, if we could be out of here at this moment. What would we do together?" Wilson asked.
She thought for a moment. "I think.. just spending time with you is enough for me, doesn't matter where. But, I do think that it'd be fun to go somewhere together." She replied.
It made Wilson feel happy to hear that even if they weren't going anywhere, she'd still enjoy being by her side. "I certainly have never heard anyone say that to me, to be honest. You really do like spending time with me? Even if we were just... sitting?"
"Mhm! Anything is nice when doing anything or nothing at all!" She said happily.
"But, I do wish to ask.. Wilson could we maybe try.. dancing together? I-I haven't danced with anyone before, and I'm not the best." Winry asked.
Wilson finished eating and sat her dishes down. "Well of course I can show you! I'll admit I'm not too great either, but that's okay. We'll take it nice and easy."
She reaches forward, asking for her hand. "Won't you care to have this dance with me dear?" Wilson offered.
She felt her heart skipping a beat. "Why yes... yes of course."
Winry takes ahold of her hand, the two are locked together, feeling their warmth radiate off eachother. Wilson moves one hand to hold her waist close.
"I'll start slow, and sway along. Just follow as I do alright? You'll do just fine." Wilson whispered.
The two danced together, slowly swaying and moving in sync. Wilson could feel her heart speed up just looking and being there in the moment with her. A faint glow falls to her cheeks.
"Hehehe! This is fun.. isn't it? Us dancing, the pretty night sky.. this moment is beautiful." Winry chuckled.
"You're right, this is the most perfect and beautiful moment I could've ever imagined."
The sounds of the crackling fire and Wilson humming a sweet, soft tune fill the air. She hasn't felt so calmed and at ease like this before, she's always been tense and anxious about things.
Winry moves a bit closer to Wilson, her body more against hers now. It makes Wilson giggle seeing her move.
"This all feels like a beautiful dream... one that I wouldn't ever want to leave. I.. I'll treasure this moment for a very long time." Winry said shyly.
"I hope you do dear, I'll be treasuring it for a long time.. and I hope you'll make it last." Wilson said.
Winry leans forward, closer to her face her eyes fluttering closed. Wilson feels as if her heart will beat right out of her chest! Before capturing her lips in a sweet loving kiss. Their movements slow and graceful as they dance, Wilson holds onto her tighter.
They pull away softly, Winry's hand carefully cups Wilson's cheek.
"I can't describe it... just how much my own heart loves you, how much I adore these sorts of things with you." She whispers.
Wilson's face rests against her hand, a soft and tender expression as she looks into her eyes.
"Oh darling.. there's so much love to give you in my own heart, that even I don't know what to do. All I wish for is that I make you happy." Wilson murmurs.
"You make me extremely happy.. how did I ever get so lucky with someone like you? To have someone completely and utterly captivate me?" Winry sighed softly.
Wilson leans Winry back, still holding onto her before leaning close to her. "You must've fallen under my scientific spell~." Wilson teased.
She pulls her back up, Winry is completely flushed after that making Wilson giggle at her reaction.
"You tease..!! But you aren't wrong, that's for sure." Winry giggled.
After their moment of dancing under the moon and stars, they settle back down on their seats. Holding one another's hand, Winry's fingertips gently caress hers.
"Thank you for dancing along with me tonight.. that was extremely special." She said
"No problem my darling, I'd do any moment just for you. It made this feel like us having a first somewhat date together." Wilson admitted.
She leaned her head on Winry's shoulder, watching the stars with her and counting them. Wanting their peaceful night to last forever.
