Summary
Luke Skywalker has triumphed. The Emperor is dead, and his father has returned to the light. But as Anakin Skywalker breathes his last, the Force trembles. Another consciousness, another soul, merges with Luke at this pivotal moment, seamlessly, instantaneously. The result: a Luke still himself, yet subtly, irrevocably changed. Faint memories of another life flicker at the edge of his awareness, two conflicting futures flashing before him.
One: legendary heroism, rebuilding the Jedi Order, becoming the galaxy's protector. The other: a desolate path of loss and despair, ending with him a forgotten hermit. One who dies without changing hardly anything at all. Luke rejects that fate. More importantly, he glimpses a terrifying truth hidden in the shadows: Emperor Palpatine lives. Hiding on Exegol in a weakened clone body, the Sith Lord plots his inevitable return. The Sith are not defeated. The Republic is not secure.
