Peri lay in a field of flowers, staring up at the dancing clouds, shapes moving across the sky, birds silhouetted against the bright clouds. They liked this part of Fairy World, one where no one else came, a place just for them to lie.
Like always, the fairy waited for its counterpart. The two always came here, it was their spot.
Something felt different today.
It was like the flowers whispered to them, telling of good things to come, calming the already relaxed fairy.
Its ears twitched, wind blowing past, expecting to hear the soft footsteps from its friend, hoping to hear his bag dropping next to its own.
But there was nothing.
Peri sat up, looking over their shoulder. They could see both Anti-Fairy World and Fairy World, with the bridges connecting them. This place was an island floating between the two bigger islands, one that they noticed ages ago.
Where was he?
It noticed everything felt unreal. Why was that?
“Peri!”
The fairy looked up, brightening at the sight of their best friend.
“Irep! Hey!” It returned, tail twitching excitedly.
The other dropped his bag, standing infront of Peri, looking down at them.
“You look beautiful from up here.” He hummed, tilting his head to the side.
“Excuse me?” Peri blinked, face going blue.
Peri felt his hand slide under their chin, forcing them to look at him.
“I said what I said.” Irep cooed, still standing.
It looked at him, face growing more blue.
Peri giggled, putting a hand on his, pointy ears wiggling. “Why, thank you… you’re rather pretty, too.”
Irep sat down infront of them, wrapping his arms around them, leaning forward. “Is that so?”
“M-Mhm…” It met his eyes, putting a hand on his cheek.
“This doesn’t feel real...” They hummed, tilting their head.
‘I knowwww…’ The voice in its head sang, sounding just as happy as it.
The soft colours slowly melted away, though, before anything more could happen. They blinked, watching their crush fade into a black that was now their vision.
“I-Irep?” Peri whines, eyes wide, wings buzzing.

Irep sat next to a sleeping Peri. He played with their hair silently, picking a dandelion and putting it behind their ear.
He wanted to know what it was dreaming about. Or if the fairy was dreaming at all. His tail was curled around the other’s.
“What would I do without you..” He wondered aloud, picking up the sleeping fairy, holding them comfortably against his body.
Peri let out a contented sigh, relaxing in his hold.
“You’re beautiful…” Irep mumbled, gaze soft.
He lay down, wings wrapping around it.
Irep could sleep a little bit with them…
Yeah… they wouldn’t mind.
Silly pretty fairy…
