Maki let her eyes drift closed. It had been a long few months and now that everything was supposedly over, she couldn’t help the existential tiredness that seemed to follow her everywhere.
The bed dipped and someone climbed up next to her.
The rules about rooms and sharing beds had gone out the window with the teaching body decimated and the students having fought for their right to do whatever the hell they wanted.
Maki rarely shared her room though. She slept too poorly to be interrupted by most people. Not to mention the scars. Naoyo had called her disfigured, ugly. His opinion didn’t matter, although Maki had worried that other people might think the same. Specifically, one person. The only person who got to tell her what they thought of the burn scars and have it matter.
Warm lips eased their way up the scarred neck to under the chin and then up to the lips.
“You are so sexy like this,” a soft voice whispered in her ear.
Maki threw an unimpressed look down at Nobara. Nobara’s one good eye looked back. She smiled and kissed down Maki’s neck. Her kisses were slow and languid, lingering over the scarred skin.
“You are not serious.”
Nobara laughed quietly and curled closer. “Of course, I am. This is the evidence of your strength, your power, your right to live in a world that took everything from you. These scars show that you came out alive while going up against a curse that not even Gojo got around to killing. How could I not love you for every inch of your body that shows that off?”
Maki hummed lightly as Nobara began to gently nip at the skin on her neck.
“You’ll always be beautiful to me. No matter what happens.”
