NOTICE FROM JUJUTSU HEADQUARTERS:
- MAKI ZENIN HAS BEEN DEEMED A THREAT TO THE JUJUTSU WORLD. EXECUTION IS TO BE CARRIED OUT IMMEDIATELY.
Maki stares at her, disbelief etching on her face.
“I’ll leave only this. Throw the rest away.”
Mai’s unblemished, clenched fist reaches out for her. Maki grabs her by the wrist, to take what’s in her hand? To hold her back? She’s unsure.
“I’ll take the cursed energy and everything with me.”
Mai slips through her hand as if she were mere air.
“But promise me… One thing.”
She feels paralyzed as she looks down at her hand. A reed lays in the palm of her hand.
“Destroy…everything…”
Maki feels her heart squeeze, as if a padlock and chain were placed around it.
“Everything… Big sister.”
