Sethosey (sethos' odyssey)

Summary:

This is an au of sethos in the odyssey this is based off of the story of odysseus and Jorge's Epic the musical. In this au Ei isn't scara's mother but Makoto is. This won't be an accurate depiction of the odyssey as I want to keep the characters from not being mischaraterised and because I'm still learning about all the info about the odyssey

Work Text:

SETHOS POV

Scara was looking at me angrily seeming like he was about to break something. His puffy eyes were holding back tears. I had to break the news that shogun had been abducted and taken to Troy. I turned my back from him to pass him water to hopefully calm him down and within those seconds he had picked up a case and threw it across our room. It shattered as soon as it hit the wall. "Those Trojan bastards! They can't force her to marry someone she doesn't love!" He shouted almost loud enough for the whole of Ithaca to have heard him. He picked up another vase ready to throw it but I snatched it from his hands. "Don't worry, I'll make sure she comes back home safely" I said putting the vase back in it's proper place.

Talking to the Trojan embassies was a pain. They were hell bent on keeping Shogun. There was no progress happening with trying to solve it peacefully, so it resulted in a war. I hated that I had to leave Scaramouche and our infant son, Durin but I had to so I departed Ithaca with my men after saying my farewells.

-9 YEARS LATER-

Troy won't admit defeat, they were slaughtering my men and keeping the Shogun locked up till this very fucking day. I've been sitting at my desk trying to devise a plan that would work but their defences made it difficult to attack and get inside the city. A spin sat on my desk staring at me for a while before a light glow around it as it changed from a cat to the form a man. "Struggling child," he spoke. "I'm no child, Deshret. However I am struggling, there is no clear way to attack the City of Troy," I sighed.
"well you don't always need to attack to get inside," Deshret responded. I sat there puzzled wondering what could he possibly mean. I looked at him as he gave a small laugh "You'll figure it out when the time comes," he spoke once more before vanishing. Even though he has mentored me for years I could never fully understand his cryptic was of speaking. Dwelling on the conversation with Deshret something clicked and my brain understood what he meant. I grabbed on of the toy horses I made for Durin and headed off to make my plans to get us inside of the walls of Troy.

I sent a letter to the Trojan army informing them that we were surrendering and that we would be giving them a gift to symbolise out peace to them and ending out feud. We created a huge wooden horse that should fit around 600 men. When the horse was done it was over a hundred feet tall. We got inside the horse and stayed still and dead quiet as some men dropped it off at the Trojan gate. One false move and they would find us.

As the night came we snuck out and went on the attack leading further into a Troy. I heard screams of the foes but ignored them heading forward. I sent men off with various assignments, Heizou and Mika were to get Shogun and to flee the city making sure to stay undiscovered till they were able to go home safely.
I ran further on my own towards the Castle. The agony of the Trojan warriors deafened the night silence. I climbed up the castle wall and took a quick glance down seeing corpses spralled around the city. I finally reached the top and hurled myself over the ledge. I got a sharp pain to the abdomen I looked forwards and saw a soldier which must of been Trojan standing infront of me with a spear pointed towards me. I blinked and next thing I knew he was gone and there was no stab wound. I looked around. "who was that?" I muttered. Thunder roared. "A vision," the voice came from the clouds, there were no doubt of who the voice belonged to. It continued to speak "of the future that cannot be escaped. It can only be dealt with right here and now".
"please tell me how" I said towards the clouds. This was my first encounter with the Queen of God's, Ei. Whatever she had to tell me must be important for the gods to interfere.
"This maybe something you can't complete. This is to kill a foe that won't run. He's nothing like those you've faced before," She stated.
"I can do it, I know I'm ready!" I responded. Whatever or whoever I have to kill to make sure a peaceful future, I will kill. A purple eagle, that seemed to be glowing as if it had been made out of lightning, flew leading me to a room. I pushed the door wider and entered after it. It perched itself on a window seal near a cot. I followed and looked down at the cot, there was was an infant. She couldn't be asking me to kill a baby, could she? "It's a baby, what possible threat could he be to us." I looked at the boy, my hands trembling as I held on to the cot. This could be the only being I can't kill.
The eagle spoke it had the voice of Ei. "This is the son of none other than the Troy's very own Prince Dottore. The boy fueld by madness that will consume him with as he ages. If you don't end him now you'll have no one to save." I stood there frozen in place "what if I raised him as my own or sent him far away from here and make his past unknown," I pleaded. I can't kill a child. Ei's voice was sturn, "None will work his past will be known, the gods will make it known." I fell to my knees still holding on to the cot, tears forming in my eyes. "I'll do anything but this please don't make me do this," I sobbed. "This is the will of the gods, the blood on your hands is some you won't lose but you can choose who they belong to," her voice was still sturn than the eagle flew away. I was left with the baby, I stood up and took the child into my arms. He reminded me of my own son. How could I hurt him. All I want to go home to my husband and son. Will these action haunt me for the rest of my days. The infant was light and asleep in my arms. Am I a monster for even considering of harming a boy? I walked slowly to the window. There was water directly under the window. This fall would be lethal for any man and worse for a baby. I felt sick to my core. Only one action can get this done easier than the rest. I took a breath and held the baby out the window. He was still asleep but was slightly moving around in his slumber. It would be best for him to be asleep so he wouldn't notice what is happening. I took a breath. "Forgive me," I said before letting go of him. I regretted my actions instantly and turned away. I heard a splash knowing that the deed was done. I three up on the floor. I killed a child, an innocent child, one that was no different from my own. I fled out the room getting far away from the castle not daring to look up. I told Ororon to call the men to retreat. The job was done, Shogun should be free, we need not to be here any longer. We boarded the boats ready to set sail. Soon I'll be back to my family and these events will be a distant past.

Hours after being on sea I fell asleep. A nightmare took over my slumber making me relive the events of the war, it was almost life like. I woke up suddenly woke up drenched with sweat and tears streaming down my face. No one can know of my actions, no one needs to know. It's my burden to bare alone.
