closet/cherry lips supernova

Summary:

As Miwa and Muta exited the closet, a rueful realization landed upon Megumi: it was her turn.

Her heart pounding in her chest, she reluctantly grabbed the base of the bottle and spun with a flick of the wrist. She felt as if the music grew muffled and the Tokyo and Kyoto students held their breath. Nobara looked like the suspense was genuinely going to kill her.

The bottle spun, and spun, and spun…

And it landed on Yuuki.

Nobara’s hand flew to her mouth. Todo looked like something had finally clicked in that small brain of his. A flustered pink-and-black haired girl looked up, a giant lump in her throat. Megumi dreaded this outcome. A bead of sweat dripped from her temple as she quickly reached to take a shot, quick as a reflex.

“Wait,” Yuuki protested.

“What are you doing?”

Chapter 1: cherries and closets

Chapter Text

The beaming music of Nobara’s playlist should've been enough to convince Megumi that she should go home. With the bass blasting in her ears, she managed to scurry her way through the crowd of her fellow students. Megumi decided to reluctantly dress up for this event, despite the fact that she didn't plan to stay for long. She wore a plain white shirt that was cut from the neck line so it hung over her shoulder and revealed a Calvin Klein bra strap and jorts (which she argued with Nobara that they were “coming back in style”), along with black converse. The party was being held at a very responsible mentor’s house– that mentor being Satoru Gojo.

Megumi could remember the conversation that led to this.

Nobara was leaning against the dining table, swirling her chopsticks in her udon. “Hey, Gojo-sensei? Would it be okay if me and the other students,” the other students and I , Megumi had internally corrected. “--hosted a party to celebrate the first-year’s six months of being a Jujutsu sorcerer?” And Gojo, of course, accepted without hesitation. He claimed he’ll just stay at a local hotel, “I’ve wanted some peace and quiet anyway,” he said.

“Fushiguro!” Nobara chirped, a smile wide across her face as she joined her. Megumi hummed in response, the music pounding in her ears.

“You have a very interesting playlist.” Megumi greeted, her eyes not looking away from the crowd. “Guys! Fushiguro’s here!” Nobara chirped, a plastic red cup in her hand.

Before Megumi could ask Nobara if she’d been drinking, she was suddenly greeted with pats on the back and the crowd shifting around her. She could recognize Maki, Inumaki, and Panda, but the rest of the people were unfamiliar.

“Who else is here?” She asked Nobara. “Oh, just some people I met at the mall. I let Maki and the others bring a plus one, too, so some people they know are here.”

“I thought this was going to be an alcohol-free, students-only party?”

“That’s what I told Gojo-sensei,” Nobara said simply. Megumi wasn’t surprised, nor angry, she was going to leave either way.

That mindset stayed for a solid two more seconds before a certain pink-haired girl with a black undercut and a cute laced yellow top that matched her short pink skirt. “Fushiguro!” A toothy grin plastered across Yuuki’s chin as she joined the huddle. “Hey,” Megumi murmured, fidgeting with her phone as she pretended to be occupied with something.

Megumi had always liked Yuuki. It shouldn’t have taken a lifeless body, flat on the wet pavement from the drizzle of the rain with a forcefully removed heart for her to realize that, but it did. “I never once regretted saving you.” Megumi cringed at herself, god, did she really say that? The answer is, yes, she did, because she was so in love with Yuuki for her desire to save people and the fact that that would never change.

Now you come to say hi.” Nobara quipped, turning to Yuuki, and Megumi got the feeling that that side comment was a remark to an inside joke she didn’t quite get. But Yuuki seemed just as confused as Megumi was.

“Oh! Yuuki, what if we asked the Jujutsu High students to play Seven Minutes In Heaven ?”

“Oh my god, we should do that!” Yuuki matched her energy, starting to ramble about how Yuta has been eying Maki and “I could cut the tension between those two with a knife!”.

“Fushiguro, you are so playing! All Jujutsu High students includes you!”

“Sorry… What's Seven Minutes In Heaven ?”

Yuuki and Nobara eyed each other, stifling a giggle. “You’ll see,” Nobara prodded, quickly running off into the crowd to find fellow sorcerers.

“Seriously, though, what game is that?” Megumi turned to Yuuki, who just smirked in response. “You don’t get out much, do you?”

“I ‘get out much,’ it’s just–parties aren’t my thing.”

Yuuki nodded, “I get that, I wasn’t even sure you were gonna show up.”

Megumi thought she was going to continue, but when she didn’t, she opened her mouth to speak; but Yuuki continued.

“I’m glad you did, though.”

Megumi decided not to mention the fact that she only showed up for Yuuki. “Yuuki…” she began, and the shorter girl looked up at her in interest. “Have you been drinking?”

“Only a little.” She giggled. Megumi didn’t feel like she had the right to judge her, because she didn’t. Pretty much everyone else was drinking too, and Yuuki definitely didn’t even seem that drunk.

“You look really pretty, by the way.” Megumi mumbled, her words faltering as she went on. Yuuki looked up at her, and Megumi knew it could’ve been the lights tricking her, but she could’ve sworn there was a tint of red flourish on Yuuki’s cheeks like a blossomed flower.

“You do too,” Yuuki stated, a lot more confident-sounding than Megumi’s staggering tone. “The shirt hanging off the shoulder suits you a lot, it’s really cute.” Just as Megumi was about to thank her, a shouting Nobara Kugisaki called their names.

“Hear that? Sounds like annoying buzzing.” Megumi commented before following the sound of the voice, earning a laugh from Yuuki (which was like music to Megumi’s ears.)

Nobara, Maki, Panda, Yuta, Miwa, Muta, Kamo, Nishimiya, Mai, and–much to Megumi’s dismay–Todo, were all huddled around in a circle on the carpet, two empty spots saved for Megumi and Yuuki. Megumi chose the spot far away from Todo, not forgetting that a couple months ago she was nearly beaten to death by the guy for choosing personality over body.

Nobara placed an empty glass bottle in the middle of the circle. “Okay,” she began, and Megumi could just picture her rubbing her hands together like an evil fly.

“So I’ll repeat the rules so we’re all on the same page. We all go in clockwise order, and when it’s your turn, you spin the bottle. When the bottle lands on someone, no matter who it is, you two have to go in the closet for seven minutes and do whatever. Light kiss on the cheek, B.J., make out, or you can pussy out and take a shot.” Nobara gestured to the three small glass cups in front of everyone, filled with some kind of alcoholic beverage that Megumi didn’t recognize.

“So, who’s going first?”

Silence.

Megumi had to stifle a laugh.

“I can,” Maki raised her hand, and when nobody rejected, she nonchalantly reached out to spin the bottle. It spun, and spun, and landed on…

Yuuki bursted out laughing.

Mai. It landed on Mai, of all people.

They both took a shot and Mai yelled at everyone laughing (Megumi included).

Miwa went next, and much to all of the Kyoto High Student’s delight, it landed on Muta. Flustered, the two decided not to take a shot, and for the next couple of minutes disappeared into the closet.

“I hope they keep it PG.” Megumi commented.

“Did you see how they flirted during the baseball game?” Yuuki turned, eyes widening like she’s been dying to gossip about it.

“I was going to throw up in my mouth!” Nobara added.

What ? I thought it was kinda cute.” Yuuki slumped. The fact that Yuuki thought their lovey-doviness was cute made Megumi smile. It was such a Yuuki thing to think.

As Miwa and Muta exited the closet, a rueful realization landed upon Megumi: it was her turn.

Her heart pounding in her chest, she reluctantly grabbed the base of the bottle and spun with a flick of the wrist. Nobara looked like the suspense was going to genuinely kill her. She felt as if the music grew muffled and the Tokyo and Kyoto students held their breath.

Butterflies swarmed in Megumi’s stomach. “Taking a shot.”

“You don't drink,” Yuuki whispered, her speech slurred which reminded Megumi about how she’s been drinking.

“Now would be a good time to start.” She whispered back.

A pang of guilt dabbed at Megumi’s heart as Yuuki looked up at her with amber-brown, sulking eyes. “You don't drink.” She said again, as if that changed anything (it did. It made Megumi rethink all her life decisions, especially how she kissed her own ass about the fact that she doesn’t drink.)

“Let’s just go in the closet. We don’t even have to do anything.”

Megumi hesitantly nodded, standing up alongside Yuuki. Nobara nudged Maki in excitement as she grabbed her phone.

The raven-haired girl entered the closet first, Yuuki following closely behind her as she shut the sliding door. Megumi immediately took into account how small the closet really was from how it looked. The two girls were practically up against each other.

Yuuki’s breath buffeted against Megumi’s chest, the two refusing to make eye contact in a situation like this.

“Itadori,” Megumi breathed, the pact do-not-make-eye-contact broken as Yuuki looked up at her, humming in response. “I never got to thank you earlier… for calling me pretty.”

“You didn't have to.” She stated simply, “I always think you’re pretty, anyways, you would have to… that’d be a lot of ‘thank you’s’ if I said it out loud.” Yuuki was basically leaning on Megumi now.

“I always think you’re pretty, too.” Megumi murmured.

Their two girl’s eyes never pulled away from each other.

“Fushiguro,” The girl’s voice grew more desperate, her fists bunching up Megumi’s baggy T-Shirt. “You’ve been confusing me a lot lately,”

“Is that so?” Megumi tried her best to mask the fact that she was internally freaking out over the fact that Yuuki was so leaning against her bra right now.

“What have I been confusing you about?” She was practically begging for Yuuki to go on, knowing that she shouldn’t get her hopes up that it was a confession, but she couldn’t help herself. “Expect the worst so you’ll never be disappointed,” was a quote she’d tell herself often. But she really couldn’t stop herself this time.

“I think…” tears welled up in Yuuki’s eyes. This was too much for her. Megumi was everything she’d ever want and more, but she was so sure that she was straight.

“I think I want to kiss you.”

Oh, FUCK “don’t get your hopes up.”

“Itadori, you’re drunk.” Megumi stated, her hands gripping Yuuki’s arms (which were very muscular, might she add), attempting to pull her away. Right now, Megumi would kill to kiss Yuuki, but it wasn’t right. She wasn’t even sure if she was being genuine.

Yuuki’s hands, blistered and rough from fighting, reached and softly caressed Megumi’s neck. “You saying that…” Yuuki laughed at herself. “Gosh, that’s such a Fushiguro thing to say…”

“Is that a bad thing?” Megumi grinned.

“No,” Yuuki huffed, her hands entangling with Megumi’s spiky, long hair. “Not at all.”

Yuuki’s lips are parted now. “Itadori…” Megumi began, her hands finding their way to Yuuki’s waist. “Are you sure? I don’t want to think I’m taking advantage of you…”

“If I don’t remember anything in the morning,” Yuuki’s words slurred, “Can you promise that you’ll remind me?”

“But…” Megumi softly snickered at herself, “What if you’re straight in the morning?”

“I won’t be.” Yuuki sounded so sure. Megumi decided that it’d be okay, as long as nothing got too heated.

“Okay.” She breathed.

Yuuki closed the space between them, her lips softly connecting with Megumi’s, and their lips fit so well to Megumi it felt like the ending to a puzzle piece. She tasted like cherries, and it was gone as quickly as it came. Megumi yearned for more. And Yuuki did too.

Getting more bold, their lips clashed this time. Yuuki’s hands that had been in Megumi’s hair tightened, tugging gently as Megumi chased after her touch, their bodies closing together.

They would part to breathe just for their lips to smack together again, wet and profound. One of Yuuki’s hands pulled free from Megumi’s raven locks and hesitantly began to slide up Megumi’s shirt, but not before Yuuki broke their kiss and stared, silently asking for permission. Megumi nodded rapidly, and Yuuki’s hand elatedly slid further up. Megumi took her shirt off, which felt euphoric to Yuuki. Megumi’s hands flitted around Yuuki’s bare waist as well, being careful with her.

From what Megumi could feel, her body felt as if she had been hand-sculpted from Aphrodite herself. Abs, hip dips, ribs and cleavage at some point–it was all perfect to her. Her elysian of a body was so beautiful, Megumi was debating on bringing her mind somewhere else to stop herself from crying from the overwhelming event. But she couldn’t do that. Not when she was currently here, why would she want to be somewhere else?

“You’re perfect, Megumi ,” Yuuki breathed hands resting on the dip of Megumi’s spine on her back.

Megumi’s breath hitched. The sound of her first name on Yuuki’s lips never felt so right. So, she might’ve gotten bold and decided to leave a hickey or two. And Yuuki might’ve tugged harder on Megumi’s hair, and Megumi might’ve whimpered a little bit.

“I didn’t take you for the whimpering type.” Yuuki snickered. “...’m not.” Megumi protested, resting her lips on Yuuki’s shoulder.

The moment was gone faster than Megumi would’ve liked, but it didn’t feel like only seven minutes either.

“Hey, lovebirds, the seven minutes are up!” Nobara shouted, knocking on the door. As fast as lightning, Megumi put her shirt back on as Yuuki opened the door, adjusting her top to cover her hickeys. They both stepped out.

“Did you guys finally relieve the tension? I swear, I could cut it with a knife!” Maki prodded, rolling her eyes.

Yuuki laughed.

“We didn’t do anything.” Said Megumi, brushing past Maki. “Your shirt’s backwards, Fushi.”

“It was always like that!” Megumi’s cheeks flushed a hot red, and Yuuki simply watched and laughed as Megumi and Nobara argued.

As they gathered themselves back to the circle, it felt like the night went over so much faster. Maki and Yuuta went, Todo and Mai took a shot, Nishimiya and Kamo took a shot, Panda always took a shot…

And, honestly, Megumi had a lot more fun than she thought she would.

Yuuki woke up, her eyes heavy as she found herself staring at the ceiling fan of her Jujutsu High dorm, with a massive hangover and barely any recollection of last night.
