Season 2: What You Didn't See

Summary:

Unseen moments from Season 2 of Miraculous Ladybug. A collection of short, self-contained stories exploring what might have happened. Each chapter is its own story.

Notes:

This is a chapter-based story that follows the timeline of Season 2.
Each chapter focuses on a canon episode and expands on what could have happened or what if...

I'm going to post the episodes in the order that Thomas Astruc felt was most appropriate to reflect the continuity of the series (according to an episode table I found).

Chapter 1: Villain

Chapter Text

Season 2, Episode 1 - The Collector

.

Story: Villain

Those words spoken by his Lady were repeated in Adrien's unconscious, even if it is night and he is lying in his bed trying to fall asleep.

.

"I think I know who Hawk Moth is" "Gabriel Agreste"

Those words spoken by his Lady were repeated in Adrien's subconscious, even if it is night and he is lying in his bed trying to fall asleep.

No.

"Do you have proof? Should I just accept it like that?"

Remembering his words and, even more, Ladybug's response.

"It makes sense, he's a reserved man and doesn't go out of the house" "And his marks are the butterflies"

No, no...

He should have felt relieved. His father had been Akumatized.

It couldn't be him! It couldn't be... He was a victim, he was...

His father.

His mind responded as if that were a sufficient justification.

He is his father... Not a villain!

However, he barely knew things about him. What if his hobby was evil?

That's ridiculous!

His head contradicted.

It was! Like the fact of still worrying about it. His father was Akumatized! Akumatized! He can't be a villain. He can't, he mustn't...

Because his son, Adrien, is a hero...

He swallowed, squeezing the sheets with his hands.

If he were a villain, it would mean he would have to face him... defeat him. His own father.

No! He can't do such a thing! Even... if his duty as a hero is to do so.

He gave a weary sigh.

Gabriel Agreste was no longer Adrien's hero when he was a child, but he was his father. Even if he changed since his mother's death, he wouldn't become a villain because of that, would he?

He turned over several times in bed, trying to stop thinking about it, finally fall asleep. Oh, please! He was Akumatized! He is cleared of all suspicion! There's no way the villain would Akumatize himself, right?

However, even if he was certain that there was no possibility that his father was a villain, that he was the very Hawk Moth due to the events that had occurred.

That night, Adrien could not sleep...
