Keeping their own eyes open felt something nearly impossible to achieve for Two Time at this very moment.
Drifting in and out of consciousness as they watched Azure do whatever was likely more important and entertaining than taking care of their own partner... they knew their beloved boyfriend would be willing to take care of them, not only when it was needed, but whenever Two Time just wanted to feel loved and wanted by the person who held such a dear place in their own heart. Still, they were perfectly aware that Azure had other things to do, so they didn't want to burden them with something that Two Time wanted to do that could easily be done by themselves — even if they desired for the other to be the one to accompany them and be by their side while they did any activity, no matter how boring or tiring it was.
It easily made their heart ache thinking of becoming something that would do nothing but drain Azure's energy. They would, — even if painfully so, — keep their worrying feelings of being nothing but someone who caused their lover trouble buried deep inside their currently aching heart. If they became someone who Azure would hold hateful feelings for, or just someone he didn't enjoy being around -- ah, the mere thought felt painful. It wouldn't take long for the guilt and pain to consume them whole if that were to happen, so, trying to get their mind off from that bitter thought, Two Time tried to focus on the sight in front of them, even if that currently seemed totally impossible to achieve.
As Two Time blinked their eyes open and shut, they were only able to see fragmented and blurry sights of their beloved taking care of the nightshades they kept together, before he turned around and gave them a gentle, loving smile. Azure's gaze was filled with nothing more than adoration for their partner, even if the other wasn't quite able to see the look in his eyes.
Azure's smile — a beautiful sight that they cherished forever. Truthfully, being able to barely see the feature that was responsible for showcasing their lips curved up into a small smile felt like the loveliest blessing they could be graced with — besides being able to see Azure's own appearance that was truly a feast for the eyes, too. Giving him a sheepish, loving yet exhausted smile — Two Time noticed Azure taking a few steps closer to them.
Even if they had been dating for a while now, Two Time felt their heart nearly leaping out of their chest when Azure sat down next to them and wrapped an arm around their waist. Trying to avoid direct eye contact so the other wouldn't immediately notice their partner nearly passing out next to them, Two Time parted their lips to whisper something.
"It feels nice to have you by my side. It's—" they paused for a second before continuing, "... It's nice to have someone who loves you, isn't it?" Two Time's tone of voice was soft. At the same time, they tried not to make it too easy to tell that they were drowsy and also wanted for Azure to take care of them and reassure them. They knew Azure could see right through them when they were feeling unwell and needed to be reassured, but they believed it would possibly make things awkward between them if they asked for reassurance so often, so they refrained from saying anything.
Unconsciously resting their head against Azure's shoulder, it probably wouldn't take long for them to pass out on their boyfriend. Azure found it endearing to have their lover like this — he found them endearing always, but that's not something to focus on right now, — still, he liked it when they clung to him. Carefully cupping Two Time's face with their free-hand, making them face him, Azure's expression grew slightly concerned when he noticed that it was obvious the other person wasn't getting enough rest, and as a result of that, they had fallen asleep on his shoulder almost immediately.
It made Azure felt slightly upset — not because they had fallen asleep on them, but because they wanted them to get rest. Had they stayed up doing tasks for the cult they belonged to? Well, whatever it was, he didn't want them not sleeping at all either way. He could question them about this later, for now, he wanted to take care of them.
Keeping a guarding hand on their shoulder so the other wouldn't fall, Azure stood up and carefully picked up Two Time on their arms bridal style. Letting his sleepy partner rest their head on his chest, Azure made their way towards the place they shared together.
Upon finally reaching his desired destination, they made their way inside and attempted to gently set down Two Time on the bed in front of them — While he tried to do so, he felt Two Time's hand grasp at the fabric of Azure's clothes, pulling them closer, although nearly not possible due to the little strength they currently held.
Burying their head on Azure's chest, they carefully spoke — although slightly muffled, Azure was able to understand them; "Azure," they murmured under their breath. "Don't abandon me. Not now, not ever..." Two Time managed to breathe out.
Azure climbed up on the bed, still holding the other cultist tenderly in their arms. They softly ran his fingers through their hair, trying to soothe them before he actually said anything. "Don't worry about that, my little nightshade. I love you deeply, and there's no one else who could—"
"Don't dissappear from my sight, and don't stop loving me, please," they interrupted him. "and," Two Time stuttered with their own words before they could actually finish what they were trying to say. "Don't hurt me either, please... Even if one day you become someone completely different, both appearance and personality wise..."
"I would still love you," Two Time murmured again. "At the end of the day, no matter how much you change, as long as the one standing before me is my dearest Azure, I will adore you deeply..."
Stifling a little smile, Azure held them impossibly closer. "That wouldn't ever happen, so, don't worry about that. I wouldn't hurt you, I won't ever hurt you — and I won't let anyone do that, either."
Azure continued to speak, trying to soothe them with their words, avoiding making any sudden contact now. "A million words wouldn't be enough to portray how much I love you. I want to do something that you surely won't misunderstand, my sweet, lovely nightshade." Azure carefully cupped the other's head so they would be facing him this time, and continued speaking. "... May I kiss you?"
Their gaze filled with tiredness and sweetness that Azure always filled them with, Two Time nodded.
Leaning in carefully, pressing their lips together in a tender kiss while Azure's hands slowly ran lower until he managed to intertwine their fingers with their lover's, Azure tried to put all of their affection that couldn't be put into words into the kiss.
Pulling away for air, still tenderly and gently intertwining their fingers, Azure brought Two Time's hand towards his lips and kissed the back of their hand. "I offer you my heart, as I surrender my feelings to you. As long as you can hold my hand, I will protect you — I will do anything for you, my little flower."
Two Time carefully leaned in close towards Azure's neck, murmuring softly into his skin. "And I offer you my hand, too. A hand that is terrified of losing you,"
Azure placed his other hand on the other's waist once again and pulled them slightly closer, even if they weren't able to see their expression — Azure's gaze was filled with love.
"With the kiss I just gave you, I have made a promise to love and protect you forever."
