Summary
It’s two weeks after the second worst day of his life when Javi finally feels like he has a chance to breathe.
Kate is safe. Tyler is safe. Boone is safe, and so is Dexter and Lily and Dani and every other resident of the town they saved.
He sits on the sidewalk in yet another motel parking lot, and watches as Kate stands alongside the Wranglers. She fits in with the group with an ease that makes him equal parts jealous and happy, and her smiles comes easily and more often. They’re her second chance at happiness even if she could have never found it with him.
And despite it all, she deserves that.
