Chapter Text
1.
Everything seemed to be going so well. So well that it only caused Stiles to feel disgusted with himself. Everyone was so happy, why couldn't he be too? ; Derek had left with Braeden, Scott was dating Malia, even Lydia seemed interested in Parrish.
So...
Why wasn't he happy for them? It wasn't that Stiles needed someone, it just, it felt so... strange.
Beacon Hills wasn't a place for him anymore.
He felt like he didn't fit in. His dad was dating Natalie Martin! Even he was happy in this damn town.
He knew it was wrong, but for once in his damn life, he wanted to think only of himself; to forget that he was part of something. He wanted to pursue his own happiness.
He skipped lacrosse practice, never needed there. He got into his Jeep and drove out of Beacon Hills ; Arriving in a neighboring town, he immediately ran to the local Sheriff's office.
- Help! I found a dead body in the woods! - he shouted at the top of his lungs.
The officers immediately ran to him. He made up a fake location and the officers went there. When he found himself alone he organized his plan.
He took all his belongings out of his jeep; a huge suitcase with clothes and another one with various things. He took a rock and left it pressing the accelerator.
The car drove in a straight line until it crashed into a house. Stiles had made sure it was empty. He then returned to the desolate Sheriff's station and with his bat smashed all the security cameras.
His face had been covered with an Isaac scarf from the first moment. The officers would not remember him.
With his things ready on his way to the bus station. That was the main reason he had come to this town, Beacon Hills did not have its own bus terminal.
He waited until his bus arrived. She boarded it and headed for a new destination.
Making sure never to turn back.
(...)
Stiles' life had come to the point he had longed for.
After almost a year of leaving Beacon Hills, he was finally fully satisfied with what he had gained on his own in that time.
He had a house, a job, and most of all he had peace and quiet.
Gone were the “Stiles you have to look into this” and the “Stiles you can't come with us, you're a human!”
Blagh!
He hated to remember all that.
Now he could guide his own way. He would wake up at the right time to go to work and come back at whatever time he wanted. He could kill his free time by going to the movies, going to the theater, shopping, playing his favorite music at full volume. He enjoyed his adult life immensely.
In this city he had a few friends, all acquaintances from work.
From his job; it was the best thing that could have happened to him. When he was younger and inept Stiles dreamed of working for the FBI, helping to catch major criminals and murderers. But all that fantasy died when he started playing Scooby Doo, catching and fighting all kinds of creatures. He didn't have to play the hero anymore, not that he was bad or anything.
He just wasn't the right one to interpose his life over another person's life.
That was not his destiny.
That's why, when he found what he loved, he vowed never to let go.
In Beacon Hills no one knew about his great talent, with all the intention in the world he had kept it a secret.
A secret she decided to reveal when across the street she came across a “Pastry Chef Wanted” sign.
Since then, his store had never been empty, the city and nearby towns knew of Stiles' talent and some went so far as to pay millions just for one of his famous cakes.
He was proud of himself.
His house was located in a good area, it was cozy and small.
Perfect for someone living alone. He had also managed to find a Jeep similar to the one he had to abandon; of course it was a more modern model, but this did not diminish the sentimental value the human had acquired in it.
One morning he went about his chores like any other day; he went to work and got on with the order of the day. He didn't notice anything strange, until late afternoon, when thousands of birds began crashing into the buildings.
Stiles' perfect life was falling apart.
