Chapter 1: Whispers in the Snow

Chapter Text

Y/N and Sae are childhood friends (and sort of lovers it's kind of complicated), since before he left to Spain.  They did everything together as kids, they went to school together, played soccer together (although he was definitely the better one of the two though, Y/N sort of just did it to spend more time with him) they went on holidays together… you name it. He was a normally kind and more talkative but ever since he left to Spain he’s been rude and cold.

She hadn’t heard from him since.

Y/N set down her phone on the park picnic table and let out a small sigh. She shivered as it was snowing and pretty cold, snuggling up in her blanket more.

Then she heard small footsteps behind her. She turned around and came into view of Sae, except he looked older, and tired.

"Sae…?"

Y/N asked, hoping it was him. Sae walked over to her and sat down on the bench next to her. He didn't take his eyes off her, staring Y/N up and down.

"It's really you."

Sae mumbled, folding his arms across his chest. He could see how surprised she was that she was actually seeing him after all this time. Y/N opened her arms as if to silently say 'you can come into the blanket too'

Sae's expression remained stoic as he looked at her open arms, then back at her face. He silently sighed and shuffled over closer to her, wrapping one of her sides under the blanket.

"Still clingy, as ever."

Sae muttered, resting his head on her shoulder.

She smiled softly, in reality Y/N didn't really care if Sae didn't talk that much anymore, no matter how much he changed Y/N always love him, she'd always be his best friend, at this point she was one of the only people who didn't mind his newfound closed off personality, and she didn't actually mind not a single bit.

Sae noticed her small smile at his words and scoffed. He looked down at the ground, avoiding eye contact with her. He felt her pull him closer by the waist, and his cheeks started blushing the slightest bit. He hated how clingy and loving Y/N was, but deep down he knew he missed her a lot.

"You still haven't changed a single bit."

Sae whispered, burying his head into the crook of her neck.
