   It was the hardest day of the year.

   There were three days Blitz hated more than anything: his mother's birthday, his birthday—it wasn’t right to celebrate it without Barbie by his side—and today.

   16 years since his life went to shit. 16 years since he last saw the only woman he ever loved. 16 years since he became a murderer, not even grown out of his braces yet. 16 years since he had been loved by his family. 16 years since he made the biggest mistake of his life.
