And—your personal favorite—“What would you do if you disappeared tomorrow? Would anyone notice?”Which should’ve been a terrifying question. But the way he asked it made it feel more like… invitation. You found yourself answering. You found yourself talking too much (and he didn’t interrupt once.) By the time dessert came—something obscenely fancy with edible gold on it—you were warm in your skin in a way you hadn’t felt in a while.
You leaned your chin on your hand and said, “You know… you’re not bad at this.”
“Not bad at what.”
“Dating.”
Rin blinked.
“This is a date?” he asked.
You laughed—actually laughed. “Oh my god. Yes, Rin. You asked me out. We’re at a restaurant. You said I looked beautiful. This is absolutely a date.”
He sat with that. Processing.
“...Okay,” he said finally. “I like dating you.”
