The transceiver within his hero costume hung on the door crackles to life, half-muffled by the rushing sink water — doubtlessly one of his coworkers or sidekicks asking where he is now that he’s officially late to his shift. Just thirty minutes ago, Izuku had attributed the body aches he’d woken up with to plain old overexertion or a lack of coffee, but here he is. Hands shaking, scent flaring.
