Oh, Now They Care!

Summary:

Ichimatsu sat down on the toilet and immediately played on his phone. It wasn't like he had to go, but he loved passing the time away on his cat game in a secluded area. Sadly, with his brothers raising hell in the other room, the bathroom would have to suffice until one of them had to go.

He was in there for perhaps five minutes before something in the trash can got his attention; a white, plastic stick wrapped in toilet paper. Ichimatsu felt his stomach begin to churn. He knew what it was.

He shook as he picked up the pregnancy test, unwrapping the paper to see the results. He knew who's test this was. It had to be Shittymatsu's. His heart raced as he saw the results and he froze.

Two lines...

Positive.

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

"Mr. and Mrs. Matsuno, I'm glad you got your sons in here when you did."

"Thank you, doctor."

Matsuyo and Matsuzo watched as the doctor stood up from his chair to retrieve some files from his cabinet; their minds racing in anxiety at the bombshell the doctor was sure to drop. Their sextuplet boys, three days shy of their thirteenth birthday, were mostly oblivious to their concerns besides for Choromatsu. That boy had always been more observant than the rest, but prone to anxiety attacks from the slightest of things. The couple kept their composure because the last thing they needed was to rile up Choro, and in turn, the other children. All hell would break loose if that were to happen.

The doctor returned after a couple minutes with six vanilla folders, each having a name of one of the brothers printed neatly on the tab. He separated one of the folders and placed it by itself on his desk, a slight frown on his face. Matsuyo could hear her heart pounding in her ears as the doctor continued to separate the folders into three piles. She couldn't read the names, but the younger man's face said it all.

"Before we begin," he began in a hushed voice, "I want you to take everyone except Karamatsu out."

Matsuyo quickly got out of her seat, practically shaking as she dragged her other five sons out of the room. Surprisingly, it wasn't too much of a challenge besides the barrage of questions being thrown at her by Osomatsu and Choromatsu. They knew something was wrong, and going by how her second eldest shook in his seat, he did too.

"Karamatsu, please sit next to your parents," the doctor said, motioning to an empty seat. The twelve-year-old obeyed immediately but was still uneasy about what was going on. Neither Matsuyo or Matsuzo could say that his fears were unjustified because none of them were probably going to like what was about to happen next.

"Doctor Abukara," Matsuzo started with a cough, "is there something wrong with our son?"

"Nothing at all. However, I wanted to address this without the other children."

"Why-"

"I don't think they'll understand. At least, not yet."

The couple looked nervously at each other. "W-What do you mean by not yet?" Matsuyo replied.

"You brought your sons in here today to find out their dynamics, right?" Dr. Akubara continued solemnly, "and that's what I'm going to do. Now, all of your sons are healthy, little boys, but there is something that needs to be addressed-"

"S-Spit it out already, doctor!" Matsuzo cried, getting a glare from his wife. "Please, I can't take this anymore!"

"Karamatsu is an Omega."

The room went deathly silent. Matsuyo covered her mouth and let out a gasp while Matsuzo looked down at the ground in shock. Now, Karamatsu had heard that being a male Omega was bad, but the way his parents reacted made it seem like he was dying. Was he dying? A lump began to form in his throat, and the next thing he knew he was letting out silent sobs.

"Oh, Kara!" His mother held him, comforting him. "Sweetie, it's alright."

"I-I'm dying!"

Doctor Akubara chuckled and shook his head. "No," he began, "you're not dying. In fact, there's absolutely nothing wrong with you; you're completely healthy. You are special, though, Karamatsu. Male Omegas are extremely rare."

Karamatsu sniffled and wiped his nose with his sleeve. "Isn't it bad to be an Omega and a guy?" His words came out meekly, he was terrified.

"No, it's very rare to be one, but there's nothing wrong with you!" Dr. Akubara replied. "You know how Beta and Omega ladies can have babies?"

"Yeah…"

"You could also have them someday if you really wanted to. However, some male Omegas decide not to and go through a special operation to close their canal."

"My canal?"

"It's what gets the baby out-"

"He doesn't need to know this right now," Matsuzo interrupted, still in shock. "He's not going to have children, so there's no need for him to be told this."

"Matsuzo…" His wife gave him another glare, holding her son tighter. "We can discuss this later. Besides, it's Karamatsu's choice to make when he's older."

The doctor leaned back in his chair, going through the other folders. "None of your other sons are Omegas, but two are Alphas-"

Matsuyo bit her lip. "Will there be any problems with them all sharing a room?" She asked nervously. "I heard Alphas can mark their siblings, and I don't want anything to happen to Kara."

"That's a rumor, Mrs. Matsuno," Akubara smiled. "Alpha's don't mark family members; scents too familiar to theirs is a repellant, they find it disgusting. As long as Osomatsu and Jyushimatsu are on stabilizers, you shouldn't have any accidents involving non-related Betas and Omegas."

"A-and the other three?"

"Betas."

"What should we do for Kara's heats?"

"Simple, just give him some suppressants and let him be by himself for a few days."

"Is that all, doctor?"

"Yes. Please, none of you should worry; everything will be fine."

At that moment, the door flung open and a frazzled nurse walked in. The cheers and shouts of the other Matsuno boys could be heard from down the hall. "Can you please get your sons," the poor woman began, "they're wreaking havoc outside." Karamatsu was still in a daze as his mother grabbed his hand, dragging him out the door.

"Remember, Karamatsu!" The doctor cried, "your brothers will always be there for you!"

He sat on the toilet seat, anxiously looking up at the white, plastic stick wrapped in paper towels on the sink counter. Karamatsu looked down at his phone, the timer ringing loudly throughout the room; he jumped and put it on mute. The last thing he needed was his brothers to find out. The second eldest brother bit his lip as he picked up the test, his hands shaking the entire time. Then, he saw those two damn lines, and his heart dropped to his stomach.

Positive.

His world was collapsing around him, and the sound of his brothers arguing didn't help either. He opened the door slightly and watched them from afar. The final words from the doctor eleven years ago ran through his head like a broken record.

"But they won't," he said to nothing but a memory, "because they don't care."
