Although the movie played in the background, neither nindroid paid attention. Zane had chosen a mystery, and it had only taken a couple minutes for the couple to figure out the plot twist.
“It's painfully obvious,” Pixal commented, laying herself back onto Zane, arms crossed. The two sat in the monastery's gaming room, surprisingly empty for once. Zanes hands drifted up, untying Pixal’s ponytail and running his hands through the wires as Pixal continued to talk, Zane nodding along.
“You're distracted.” Pixal brought her hand up, grabbing Zanes and stopping theirs.
“I know,” Zane sighed, carefully placing Pixals hand back at her side, but not releasing their intertwined fingers. “I just missed this,” Zane admitted. The year without Pixal at his side had hurt more than they would like to admit, “I missed you.”
Pixal laughed softly. How Zane missed that sound. Pixal shifted , turning herself around and encasing Zane in cuddles. Zane happily accepted, his hands returning to Pixal’s hair as they softly combed through the wires. The movie in the background played forgotten.
Pixal’s eyes closed, face buried in Zanes shoulder. Zane stared down at his other half, admiring her.
The detective spoke in that dumb accent Zane had once done.
“You remember when you did that accent?” Pixal laughed. Zane joined her, moving their arms down to properly hold her.
The silence elapsed again, only small laughs coming from the couple every so often as they caught sight of the other staring.
“I was right!” Pixal practically shouted, awakening Zane from his peaceful almost sleep as she jumped up from her seat and pointed furiously at the tv.
Zane, eyes still closed, simply extended their arms, making grabby hand motions to imply he wanted Pixal back. Pixal rolled her eyes but obeyed, falling back into her previous position. Zane adjusted, dragging the two of them down to properly lay on the couch. Pixal snuggled herself into the situation, content with everything.
“This doesn't change the fact that that was an idiotic plot twist.” Pixal muttered into Zane’s chest. The two just laughed softly together.
