The soup bowl jumped, spilling its contents across the table in a greasy sea of broth dotted with rare islands of carrots, potatoes, and meatballs.
Nero buried his face in his hands, took several deep breaths, and reminded himself that as an adult, he needed to keep his composure and wasn’t allowed to throw a tantrum.
He turned to Dante, clinging to the hope that at least one of his brothers might be reasonable, and asked:
"And....What do you say?"
The boy stared thoughtfully out the window, his eyes gleaming with mischievous malice.
