Summary
The world kept turning. The sun would rise and the moon would fall in tandem. You kept working, you kept walking to and from it. Every evening, when the sun was setting, shielded by the skyscrapers standing tall around you like the bars of a cage, you returned home. But no one was there to greet you, not even the ghostly whines coming from the vents of the A/C that usually whistled before you left in the mornings.
But Anya was yet to come home.
