Chapter Text
*Fuck*. The mission had just ended and damn was Kyle tired. It was the standard in and out but the intel hadn't warned them that there would be loads of enemies waiting for them inside.
Kyle made his way to the mess hall. He was starving after all, MREs don't exactly cut it for many days out on mission. Yum... slop and potatoes. Kyle's favourite... Oh well, food is food.
He didn't know what to do. He had been in love with his Captain for months but Price and Nikolai, the pilot that made him fall from the helicopter, just announced they were together. Of course Kyle knew he never stood a chance. Nikolai was a big Russian dude, and he had years of experience. Kyle was just an inexperienced Sargeant. The Russian accent was to die for. He had... British but Price was English too so it was pretty boring.
He grabs his slop and sits across from Soap, Johnny.
"Ye all good there mate?" Johnny's voice is gentle but concerned.
Kyle knew he should tell someone but how could he? Soap would probably think he was a homewrecker, something Kyle never wanted to be. People like that were dickheads.
"Yeah I'm all good, mate. Just tired from the mission." And it wasn't a complete lie. He WAS exhausted.
Seems like Johnny could see right through his lies though, as he just raised an eyebrow and chuckled.
"Sure mate. Course that's all ye gonnae tell me. Ye cannae just make me guess!" Johnny had always been upbeat and straightforward.
Kyle really shouldn't be jealous. But he's sure the Captain would even go for Johnny before him. Maybe he had a thing for accents?
*Speak of the fucking devil*.
Jonathan- fucking -Price walks right in like he owns the place. Kyle supposes in a way he kinda does. He is the Captain of the base after all. So all these soldier are his property... including Kyle. He thinks that shouldn't sound as enticing as it does.
"Hello boys, how are we after that grueling mission?" His voice is husky and deep, Kyle could listen to it for hours.
"All good here sir! Just am wondering what's got Gaz here all tensed an quiet ye Ken?" Kyle Freezes, Soap no... Price grunts seemingly concerned.
"What is it Garrick? Something happen to you on the mission?" Price's eyebrows are furrowed and arms crossed as he turns to Kyle.
Gaz just sits there. Tongue numb. How could he tell his own Captain that he is one hundred percent in love with him?
"Fine, sir..." He finally manages to force out.
