Okay, did anyone else wonder why Jaeger was a jackass? People don't do this stuff out of nowhere 90% of the time. I don't recall anything from his home life being mentioned, although I could have just forgotten it. (I think his parents were rich/important or something. I'm not sure, so please tell me in the comments where his family was mentioned so when I get a personal copy I can check) This is primarily why I'd like a sequel to The Fort, or at least a forum post with a paragraph just explaining relatively what's up with him. And even if he was a jackass for a reason we knew, it clearly wasn't in-depth enough because I would've remembered it.
It would be a kinda wack explanation to say he is a complete psychopath (like the actual diagnosis of a psychopath,) because those traits are partially influenced by external forces, specifically family life in early childhood. I'm alright with him having traits of a psychopath or straight up being one, but I'd still like to know specifics, like what human traits does he retain and what has he lost? Did his parents influence his psychopathy in any way? Stuff like that cuz psychopathy is genetics and external influence.
Okay ramble out of the way let's get onto ✨ headcanons ✨
Jaeger Devlin:
- Perpetual sunglasses 😎 (cuz he's a biatch)
- Has stubble on his face
- Secretly has butterfly knives he plays with, probably a custom design as well.
- GAY 🏳️🌈🌈🏳️🌈✨✨🌈🏳️🌈🌈✨🌈🌈✨ (for Luke)
- Listens to Bear Ghost / Belts BTBBRBBBQ without missing a beat
- His favorite song is Vulture by Bear Ghost
- Sleeps in the mustang
- Has said every slur known to man
- Intermediate German speaker / Curses in German
- Calls Luke cute names in German that sound like the cries of the damned
- Probably accidentally killed someone and never noticed (nobody found the body)
- Has never been in a rough enough situation to realize, but he'd kill to keep Luke safe (because it would give him more control over Luke through guilt tripping and he kinda loves him in a cruel, twisted way.)
- Can't handle the scent of cedar, has a very particular way of disposing of the source of cedar scent so it doesn't get worse, which is very contradictory in comparison to his impulsive behavior.
- Hates the cold.
- Particular tones in voice can make him either violent and almost barbarous, or shriveled and scared.
- Has several piercings, but most are hidden because his hair is long and messy.
- Speaking of his hair, he usually has it up in a messy man bun.
- Definitely has a tattoo, but I don't know exactly what it would be though.
- Partially knows Luke's home life, keeps quiet about it out of respect.
Luke Donnelly:
- Also has sunglasses (hand me downs from Jaeger), but they don't cover his eyes.
- Has a lighter he fidgets with, intrigued by pyrotechnics.
- Bisexual~✨🩷💜💙✨
- Cares about Jaeger, but doesn't know why. He constantly denies his feelings because he knows it's unhealthy, but they never truly go away.
- Tried to learn German to understand Jaeger. Can't speak very well, but can understand it with great accuracy.
- Called Jaeger an idiot in German when he said one of the cute nicknames he gave him. Jaeger punched him in the face so hard he blacked out immediately
- Has scars across his body from protecting Evan from their parents all those years ago.
- Luke was forced to spill about his family life when Jaeger found his scars.
- Is physically repulsed when he smells a cigarette; has abandoned Jaeger several times because he lit one.
- Has threatened Jaeger’s life to make him stop using drugs (opioids and stuff), it kinda worked (Jaeger doesn't use drugs that much anymore, but has gotten addicted to other things.)
Why do I ship Luke x Jaeger?
Uhhh I realized I didn't ship anyone in The Fort and I didn't wanna ship anyone from the main group (I kinda liked CJ x Mitchell but it was ehhh). I realized I could make a real fucked up ship with Luke x Jaeger and thought it was funny. Now, an entire year later, I have an entire separate story with OCs and a whole magic system that sprouted from haha silli unhealthy gay men. (It's the Tree City story I'm semi working on btw)
