Chapter Text
Elliot sighed as he walked back inside the mansion that was finally finished. His father had worked so hard and long on the house, a smile grew on his face as he looked at the now familiar home. It made him so appreciative to be able to live in such a beautiful home with his family. He chuckled as he saw the familiar scratch and bump in the wall from Mia and him playing around, his thumb grazing over the covered wound reminiscing.
His father was so worried, yet scolded the pair so much that day. He remembers how much Mia groaned about having to help paint the walls before his dad said that she could paint her room however she wanted, that quickly wiped the frown off her face.
The stairs creaked under his feet as he climbed the stairs to make his way towards his room. Behind those closed doors would only show a more vulnerable and quiet Elliot. A sigh escaped him as his aching legs relaxed once he sat down on his bed, working all week had exhausted him.
The tiredness in his eyes with the glint of joy nevertheless, he loved his job very much but there's only so much a person can take. He sigh happily as he began to stretch his arms and back, pops and cracks made him wince before he stood up to stretch his legs. Immediately hissing in pain as tears began to prick his eyes from the sudden cramping, clenching his teeth as he waited for his legs to relax before massaging the aching muscles gently. Tenderly and generously taking his time to work out the stress in his muscles.
He could only hum in pleasure as the aches in his muscles slowly dissipated. Flopping back onto the bed once he was refreshed, closing his eyes as he took a deep breath. It was quiet, yet not too quiet.
The creaking and aching of wood as the house settled into the cooled temperature, the grandfather clock ticking from downstairs could be heard yet muffled. His mind started to drift away as he stayed still.
When would Mia come by knocking on his door to ask him to help her with some? Or would she scold him again for being such a "snooze for brains" for being late to dinner again? He always cared so much for his sister... he wondered how she was doing.....
Elliot could only wake up in a dulled refreshing manner as his eyes blinked to life again. Looking outside to see the same skies, the same trees, everything was the same. Yet, it was raining.
Just like the day he went out to find Mia, she didn't come back home at the usual time. He could remember everything like it happened a minute ago. How fast his heart rushed in panic as he cried out for her, screaming out her name until his voice was hoarse.
Tears stinging his eyes as he found one of her bows on the ground, it was a safe neighborhood.. everything was safe and yet Mia had went missing. That night he stayed out searching for her endlessly, telling his dad to rest after seeing house much it stressed his heart. His dad wasn't as he used to, he's not the same o' pops that'd come and pick up Elliot to tease him in front of his friends.
His dad needed to rest, while Elliot stayed out to find his sister. He couldn't let someone so precious to him disappear so easily, running and searching through the storm. His shoes soaked with mud as he continued his search, it was only when the thunderous roars and claps went silent that he knew something was wrong.
Crying out for Mia still, lost in the panic for his sister's safety until he stumbled onto the sight of a cabin with a small village like houses.
He would not be able to find her. As he's already been long gone since that storm.
