The Scholarly Archiver

Summary:

As an Archivist of all knowledge spanning timelines and dimensions, there isn't anything that Shiori Novella isn't knowledgeable in. That is, until a simple biography that has reinvigorated her thirst for knowledge once again.

Notes:

Hi Everyone, this is a little one shot series I'll be working on while working on my Zeta fanfic (Unit AZ). Safe to say it wouldn't be as ambitious but would try my best nonetheless. Also yeah, I had this idea ever since I saw this art and just had to https://x.com/takopuras/status/1686776631162253314

But yeah enjoy this short read

Chapter Text

It was another enthusiastically boring day at the library...

Shiori thought to herself as she walks by the massive bookshelves of her own Archivist Library, the top completely beyond what the human eye can reach while spanning past horizons. Each shelf is packed with books of all varieties; whether size, age, thickness, or age ratings. It would cost a millennium or two to finish a single row, which isn't as worrying as your mental fortitude needed to absorb that many comphrehensions

All of which have become past readings for our lovely Archivist, now apathetic to all their contents. After all, when you're responsible for the only vault that possesses infinite passages and books and gosh knows what-all while being located in a Vacuum unaffected by time- all of it including forbidden spells and world ending ritual eventually mold back into mindless trivia in Shiori's mind.

The only thing that would somewhat excite her mind is her favorite BL series "Mechanical Caress of the Tyrant", which unfortunately is on hiatus due to the writer's short break to tend to her family. Coward

Now with an empty hands and even emptier mind, She starts to straighten up a few books on the top shelf, using a wheeled ladder to prop herself up which she took out from a closet. While tidying up, she decided to rearrange a few of them while skimming a few of the titles, " How to Reverse Seduce a Siren", "A Survival guide for Scissor enthusiasts when all utensils miraculously disappear", "Reality" Ah, these ones, guess I'll grab them now to read later

-Thud

The impact of a singular book echoes throughout the chamber, bouncing off some pillars before a silence followed suit.

Shiori looked to down to see a singular lime green book, surrounded by dust clouds from the fall. She slowly steps down from her 10ft ladder to return to base ground, kneeling even closer to the ground to grab the weathered book cover.

"Huh, I don't remember seeing this book anywhere" dusting off any additional flakes, it seems to be a titleless leather front, held together by a brittle rope tied around the butt.Shiori starts to slowly unwrap the knot, each twirl further appetizing her curiosity until it fully untied.

She opened to the first page which hurled up even more dust. Okay this dust thing is getting annoying now. There are two lines of ink-written letters in cursive in the middle of the worn page
