Chapter Text
“Hacha!” Chad throws a punch at the monster, kicking it at the same time. The demon gets pushed back and tries hitting the blue ranger although Chad dodges with ease. Captain Mitchell just alerted him about a demon being closed by. He was on his own for a bit but the rest of the team were coming soon. He was doing wel
“Rescue Blaster!” Chad shoots at the monster hitting it a few times. The monster holds its arms up, a small hole opening in the middle of its body. Chad shoots a few more times however the monster takes the shots, absorbing them into its body.
“What?!” Chad stopped. Before he even had time to react, the monster laughed and a large force of energy came shooting out of its body. The ranger’s eyes widened and he tried to move but it was already too late, the blast hitting him and slamming him against a building. The blast was so strong it demorphs him.
The blue ranger groans as he slides down the wall. He quickly tried to get himself together when the monster shot another blast. A few building pieces fall onto him, a giant one landing directly onto his leg and he screams in pain, body buried under the debris.
The monster approached him slowly, reading to kill him when it yelled in pain and jolts forward
“Chad!” He heard and saw the rangers running toward him. They were already morphed, Carter already shooting the monster, Joel and Dana doing the same. Kelsey runs up to him
“You okay?” She asked, taking the building pieces of his body
“Yeah. I think so.” Chad responded although he wasn't too sure. He couldn't feel any pain at the moment but maybe it was the adrenaline. Slowly Kelsey removes the rubble and he’s able to move his upper body. A few bruises but he was okay.
But then Kelsey removed the piece on top of his right leg and he let out a pain yelp.
“Sorry!” Kelsey said and started clearing it slowly. He noticed that some of the rubble was stained red, and winced.
The monster screamed as the other rangers finally defeated it. It bursted into sparks and soon exploded. Luckily it didn't grow this time as they didn’t have time
“Chad! Kelsey!” The others rush toward them. They quickly helped the rubble off. Eventually his lower body was out although.. one look at his leg
It looked bad. There were some deep wounds and a bone sticking out. He grimaced and looked up to the other rangers, who had demorphed.
“That doesn’t look good,” Carter said. Joel shakes his head as he puts a hand on his chin.
“That attack messed your leg up. I don’t think you can even more it .”
Chad tried moving. That was a mistake. The pain was intense and he let out a shaky breath. He wasn’t doing that again.
“Don’t do that. Dana’s already calling an ambulance. “ It’s probably for the best they take you.”. Chad sighed, and nodded. He wondered how long he would be out of action for. He felt Kelsey put a hand on his shoulder.
The ambulance eventually arrived, the paramedics being very careful to put him in. Dana goes inside with them, helping them situate him.
“You’re going to be okay.” Dana reassured
Chad could only nod as he felt the medic handle his wound.

“Your leg is fractured and there are several wounds.”
Chad winced. It shouldn’t be too much of a surprise considering he got rushed immediately into the emergency room. His leg was in a cast with several stitches to close the wound
He was discharged in the next hour, given a bottle of medication and put in a wheelchair. He would be in it for the next few weeks. The others were outside, Carter and Joel helping him inside the jeep.
The doctor told him should not do any physical activity for the next two months. Chad knew that meant he couldn’t help in battle but that also meant he couldn’t swim or do martial arts. Two of his favorite activities. He sighed and rested his face on his arm
Joel could probably see that he was upset as they drove back. He felt a hand on his shoulder.
“C’mon man. You get to take it easy for a few weeks. It’ll be alright.” Joel said
“Yeah. We’ll help out.” Kelsey added on, grabbing onto his hand.
Chad has a weak smile toward the both of them. He appreciated the reassurance and knew they would help. But he just knew this was going to be a rough and long healing journey
