"I trusted you," Isaac hissed.
Angel blinked innocently at him from her spot under Derek’s arm.
"Of all the people to betray me. My spot. You are in my spot. That is my boyfriend."
She yawned and stretched her front paws out, then curled back up with her tail over her nose. Derek's breath ruffled her fur as he slept.
"You're the worst cat ever. He didn't even want you. Did he tell you that? I wanted you. And this is how you repay me."
She wedged her face under Derek's neck. Isaac could hear her purring.
"I can't believe this. Now you're just rubbing it in."
"Shut up and lay down," Derek mumbled without opening his eyes.
"She's in my spot!"
"Then move her."
"I can't!"
Derek sighed. He scooped up Angel and rolled onto his back, tucking her against his chest.
“There,” he said, stretching his other arm out. “Now lay down and go to sleep.”
Isaac kicked off his shoes and crawled into bed. He snuggled into Derek’s side, sprawling half on top of him and using his shoulder as a pillow. Derek's fingers traced his back.
“I'm still mad at you,” he told Angel petulantly.
“Sleep.”
