One way you could tell what someone's position in a pack is the way they scent their packmates and vice versa. Nobody could get a good grasp on how the hell the dynamics between the vees worked.
Valentino was possessive with Vox, he grabbed him out of nowhere and wrapped himself around the omega, making sure to cover him completely in his honey and smoke scent. Val would not dare be that rough with Velvette, he would hug her and gently nuzzle into her neck, closest to where her faint berry and slightly floral scent was.
While Valentino was overt with his scenting in public, Velvette showed a little more restraint. She mostly reserved scenting for private settings. When she scented Val in public it was performative, posing for cameras. With Vox it was mostly the same.
Vox scented more affectionately in private, but he would scent his vees in public for the cameras and if he felt someone was getting too flirty with them. He mostly scented casually, rubbing his wrist against Velvette's, or covertly scenting Val while the alpha scents him.
Nobody knew quite what the vees deal was, because all they saw was Valentino scenting them the most, something usually omegas do the most. Velvette scenting them at all was unusual for a beta. And they could never see just how much Vox makes sure Val and Vel are absolutely covered in his ocean and blueberry scent so it looked like he never scented them at all.
