You stand there, at the end.
The glass shattered, the prophecy foretold, the end spoiled.
And there he is, on the floor, his face covered in a mix of blood and tears.
You look at him. Your SOUL looks at him.
For a brief second, you see yourself again. Alone. Afraid.
You see yourself on the floor, your face covered in a mix of blood and tears.
You hope with all your heart that your SOUL will let you reach out and...
"It's okay not to smile, Ralsei."
You say, the words exiting your mouth without your consent. Though it is what you wanted to say.
For a brief second, you feel it, the opportunity to move, and you take it.
You join him on the floor, and for the first time of your own volition, you bring him into your embrace. Blood and tears stain you as you hear him whisper,
"I... I'm scared..."
You remember what it was like to look in the mirror and see him. The little headband that proudly sat atop your head. To look in the mirror and see him as you. Finally, more like them. Finally able to fit in.
Similar, but unique.
You fight back the urge to cry as your own words echo in your skull.
"I... I'm scared..."
And for a moment, you accept it.
Although he is in front of you, face covered in blood and tears, there never was a him.
There was only you. Embracing yourself as you cry, your face covered in blood and tears.
You and your little headband, reunited. And you can't tell if you should embrace it, or push it away.
But for now, all that matters is you, with him.
