"watch out! I got it!"
The voices of team UAs players echoed through the gymnasium as they hit the ball, the sound of the ball smacking, knees sliding across the ground, and the grunts of the players filled the almost silence of the gymnasium. Nobody ever really came to a Volleyball game, I mean, hell, it was a volleyball game. Whats there to see? Though, when people do show up, (mostly when its a school game) the crowd goes wild. Posters, foam fingers, loud cheering, megaphones, etc. Makes all these silent games worth it.
Sweat dripped down the side of Kasukis face, "I got it!" he yelled, sliding across the floor to hit the ball.
Katsuki Bakugou loved volleyball. Nobody would ever think so, everyone would think he'd lay low, maybe play some soccer, or a more aggressive game like football. But no, he found peace in volleyball. In hitting the ball with all his force, bruising his arms and knees from hitting and sliding, he was at peace. There was no yelling mother, telling him to get his shit together, no deadbeat father standing, staring, and watching in silence while his family falls apart in front of his eyes. Just him, his teammates, the ball, his opponents, and a goal. A goal to kick ass.
If you ask the coach, Katsuki is one of, if not, the star player of the team. Always taking a risk to get the ball up, always taking the fall to catch the ball just in time. He was competitive, and his coach adored that. But if you asked his best friend Sero? He'd laugh in your face, say something along the lines of "Katsuki? No. No not at all. I'm the star player, do you see me out there? Use your brain now"
and of course it would be a joke, Sero loved Katsuki like his own brother. But he couldn't just nicely give away the title of star player like that, where's the fun?

The sound of the whistle blared, "game!" the ref yelled, "UA wins!"
The few parents in the gymnasium clapped, applauding their children in yet another win.
"Good games" were exchanged between teams, before they all headed back to their designated locker rooms.
Silence fell between the close friends as they walked, Katsuki rolled his shoulders as the pair walked, a small grunt leaving his lips as he did so, "You know..." Sero started, and Katsuki could practically hear the smug look on his face, "you never really hang out with anyone man, I get sad seeing you all alone half the time. I think you'd really enjoy hanging out with my friends." he hummed as they entered the locker room.
Katsuki rolled his eyes with a huff, putting his belongings together before zipping up his bag and slinging it over his shoulder. "In your dreams." he grumbled, "Why on earth would I want to hangout with your idiot friends when I can continue to use the luxuries of your bed when you're not around. Not to mention, they're loud, annoying, have I mentioned idiots? Why would I surround myself with that. That's the stupidest idea i've ever heard in my life." The blonde continued to ramble, "Now, if you don't mind, I have a shit ton of homework I need to finish." Katsuki started to walk away, but the sound of quickening footsteps were close on his trail.
"Please Bakugou! You really dont know what youre missing! You wont be disapointed! I swear!" Sero called after him, a small pout forming on his face, "I know im missing a bunch of idiots making dumb choices, it's already a chore enough being around youre ass when youre stoned. I dont need to surround myself by others." Katsuki grunted, while Sero gasped dramatically, putting a hand on his chest, "Well then! So be it!" Sero exclaimed dramatically, putting a hand over his forehead, "and to think, i'm always there for you in your time of need. You cannot bare to do this one simple thing for me" he huffed,
"No, no I cannot. Listen, I really have a bunch of homework to do. So if shit doesn't hit the fan i'll see your stupid ass tomorrow. If shit does hit the fan, i'll see you in a couple hours alright?" Katsuki turned to face the other, and Sero gave a small nod, "Stay safe bro, and if I dont see you, dont forget to take your damn binder off. Big game tomorrow, I don't need you collapsing on us again" he hummed, waving to the other before the pair split into opposite directions.
Alright, maybe Katsuki sucked at taking his binder off. So what? A few bruised ribs never hurt anybody, he just forgets he wasn't born a boy.
The walk home was fine, a slight breeze hitting Katsukis face while he sighed deeply. He just wanted to sleep in his own bed, he had been bunking with Sero for about two weeks now, with his mom off her meds, everything had been a shitshow. Don't get him wrong, he loved hanging out with Sero, he loved how if Katsuki needed silence, he'd be silent. If Katsuki needed noise, he'd be the noise Katsuki needed. They didn't even need to communicate about it, Sero just...well..he just knew. They clicked so well together, and Katsuki couldn't be more happy, and couldn't have picked a better chosen brother.
Arriving to his front door, Katsuki took a deep breath, taking his keys out of his pocket and slowly unlocking the door. He turned the handle slowly, opened the door as silent as he could, and closed it even quieter. If that was even possible.
Katsuki crept towards the staircase leading to his room, and right when he thought he did it, he finally could be in his room, foot hovering above the first step, he heard a slam. Then a yell, and then angry, loud footsteps heading in his direction.
Well shit.
"Kat my darling darling daughter." Mistuki called, approaching Katsuki, "Oh my love, what have you done to your hair?" She sighed, putting her hands on his cheeks, "You need to grow out of this phase my dear, this isn't good for you. It's ruining you. Being on the boys volleyball team? Are we serious? You're a female, Kats. You will never be a boy."
Katsuki tore her hands away from his face. "My name is Katsuki, i'm a boy, I am your son. I will always be a boy, and I will always be your son. Now, if you don't mind I have a bunch of homework to do, and i'd really not like to fail a class and be kicked out of volleyball right before the playoffs." The blonde grumbled, starting to walk up the stairs.
Mitsuki grabbed Katsukis arm, pulling him towards here, "You are a FEMALE Kats. You are my DAUGHTER. You were born with FEMALE parts and nothing is going to change that." Mitsuki yelled, getting into her sons face, "Your father would be so disappointed in you, Kats. So very disappointed."
Katsukis face dropped, eyes instantly filling with tears, "I'm staying at Seros tonight, and you can fuck right off." He said quietly, yanking his arm away from his mother and stomping up the stairs.
"This isnt over!!" She screamed after the blonde.
The thing about Katsukis father, was, well, he was dead. He had died before Katsuki came out as trans, from cancer. Katsuki was going to tell his father, he really was, he knew his father would accept him, love him, no matter what. He knew that through thick and thin, his father would be there. But his mother, wasn't, and after Masaru had passed. Mitsuki hung it over his head in every situation. To get Katsuki to do things for her, to win arguments, etc. Anything and anytime she could use it, she did.
Katsuki quickly shoved clothes and other belongings he'd need into a dufflebag, grabbing his school backpack, and practically running down the stairs. Slamming the front door behind him.
The walk to Seros wasn't bad at all, he lived about two towns over. Katsuki just mumbled things like, "stupid old hag" and "fuckin cunt" under his breathe the whole way there. Before pulling out his key (gifted to him by Seros mother) and opening the front door. He made his way up the stairs, pushing in seros room. The window was open, and he sighed, throwing this things onto the ground, and climbing out the window and onto the roof.
"Oh hey kid." Sero said, taking a long hit of his joint, "Change your mind about hanging out with me and my friends and come to beg to be invited to a hangout?" he hummed.
"In your fucking dreams." The blonde scoffed, taking a seat next to the other, "No, just another 'you're a girl kats, your father would be dissapointed, kats' conversation with the hag again. Couldn't bear being there." he shrugged
"Sorry man, glad you finally know you can come here whenever without having to ask, and without feeling weak. As stupid as it sound, i'm proud of how far you came from when we first met. How about we make a fort and watch all the all-might movies we can huh?" Sero hummed, looking over to Katsuki.
"You're a fucking sappy loser, you know that?" Katsuki scoffed, "I'm in."
