Work Text:
“How the fuck did I end up like this?” was the only thing in Minho's mind. He went to the karaoke to unwind, that week was hell. He didn't expect Chan to be there too and, worst of all, horribly drunk.
Chan didn't drink, why was he the drunkest one at the karaoke? There was no way he started drinking after they broke up. Chan wasn't like that.
The other people that were with Chan saw how clingy he was with Minho, so they left him to his care. Or they decided Chan wasn't their responsibility anymore.
As hours passed, Minho realized that Chan's friends weren't coming back for him. He sighed.
“Chan, you need to go home.”
“No, why? I'm fine.”
“You're so drunk you can't even stand up for yourself.”
“Oh, come on, I'm not that drunk… Look, if I were drunk could I do this?”
“Chan, wait-”
Chan stumbled his way to the stage and somehow convinced the DJ to let him sing. Minho didn't even try to stop him; after all, Chan was way stronger than him, there was no way he could've been able to retain him.
Chan was completely butchering the song, “Stand by me”, but, even drunk, his voice sounded so beautiful for Minho. Maybe it was the song choice, or the feelings that he tried to bury deep down.
“Did you see that, Minho?” Chan asked, making his way to the sofa Minho was sitting on.
“Yes, yes, I did. Chan-”
“Minho, I love you so much.”
“Chan, don't say that.”
“But I love you. I love you, so I want to say that I love you.”
“You know you don't mean it. We broke up, remember? You were the one who asked for it… Chan?”
Chan fell asleep, the alcohol had finally gotten to him. Minho didn't know what to do anymore, so he drank a bit while he waited for Chan to wake up.
He drank, and then drank a bit more. Before he could realize it, he was drunk as well. Minho never lost control while drinking, but he couldn't care less. His mind was quiet when he was drunk, so it was fine.
Chan woke up just a few minutes later, just as drunk as he was before falling asleep. Now there were two drunk idiots at the karaoke, with no one that could take care of them.
“Sorry, I didn't mean to fall asleep… It's not because I'm drunk! I'm just tired.”
“Hm, it's fine. You look cute when you're asleep.”
“I always look cute.”
Chan kissed Minho. It was just a peck, so Minho didn't want to think much of it. He was drunk but not that drunk, Minho knew when to stop.
Minho thought he knew when to stop.
One kiss turned into two, then into three. And then into a full-on making out session. Deep down, both of them knew it was wrong; they were exes, they weren't together anymore, but they couldn't stop.
The karaoke was about to close, so they decided to spend the rest of the night at Minho's place. He didn't live too far from there and, since none of them could drive, they decided to walk there. Somehow they made it alive.
Chan fell asleep the moment he laid on the bed, but Minho doubted whether to sleep on the couch or on the bed with Chan. He opted for the bed.
Minho woke up feeling like shit; he knew he'd feel bad, but not that bad. When he turned around, he saw that Chan was already awake, sitting on the bed instead of lying down. Minho hoped he'd forget about what had happened last night, but he didn't, making him feel worse.
“D-did I wake you up?” Chan asked.
“No, no, don't worry.” Minho replied, also sitting on the bed.
A long, awkward silence followed that short interaction.
“I've… been thinking about what happened last night.” Chan finally said. Minho's stare was making him feel nervous. “I was planning to apologize, but… I meant it. Everything that happened.”
“… Really?”
“We shouldn't have broken up, it was a mistake. I know you already told me that, but I didn't realize how badly I missed you until I wouldn't wake up by your side everyday… I-I get it if you already moved on, but-”
Minho grabbed Chan's face and kissed him, taking Chan by surprise.
“How could I move on from you?” Minho asked. Chan didn't reply, he just kissed him again. “Do you want to go have breakfast?”
“At our usual?”
“At our usual.”
