“I knew you’d come,” Izuku says with a huge grin, stumbling toward the car like he’s never been happier in his life. His voice is slurred, heavy, and too loud. “Kacchan!”
The door barely opens before Izuku throws himself into Katsuki’s arms.
Katsuki stiffens instantly, caught between letting him fall and instinctively holding him up. He chooses the latter, arms automatically coming around Izuku’s soaked frame.
“I missed you,” Izuku mumbles, face buried against Katsuki’s shoulder. “Should’ve invited you. Shouldn’t’ve gone without you.”
Katsuki’s heart does something traitorous.

“You came,” Izuku says again, head lolling against the window now. “You always come when I need you.”
“Shut up.”
“You’re warm.”
“I said shut up.”
Izuku giggles like that’s the funniest thing he’s ever heard. He reaches out blindly and clutches the sleeve of Katsuki’s hoodie with trembling fingers, like he’s afraid he’ll be left behind if he lets go.
And Katsuki doesn’t say a word. Doesn’t pull away. Doesn’t even breathe too hard in case it startles him.
