Chapter Text
Lightbulb had been waiting in Idiotic Island for months! It had given them time to think, about the deeper things in life.
Even though it may not look it, Lightbulb likes to think about deep thought provoking questions and serious topics. His way of expressing it was just unique, and slightly misleading to normal lines of thinking.
One of the things he thought about was the other contestants that would get dropped in every month or so. When he came to the island he shattered because of the poor system.
Then he moved on to other things. Like thinking about what was in that book of baseball’s. Thankfully it was a lot less graphic than what he expected.
But in between all these semi meaningless semi meaningful questions, he would have a thought. It was an uncomfortable thought, one about gender.
Lightbulb was really never the type of guy to be completely girlish but he definitely wasn’t all the way masculine either. And that was all fine but that girlish femininity sounded so alluring. It somehow felt more natural of a thought than hyper masculinity, and when he thought more it was even more natural than the middle..
All of these thoughts lead up to a question, it was really no harm to ask right? Just to double check there wasn’t any sanity to his idea. It was probably just a mishap in his mind, she was just- HE was just making things up… Right?
So one night when he was sitting on the grassy field of Idiotic Island, leaning onto the cold metal bars, he asked a question.
“Nickel, I was wondering..”
Nickel turned over from watching the sky, also leaning against the bars, but about 4 feet away. “Yes?”
Lightbulb looked at the dewy grass, admiring the sunset, and trying to put off his question for as long as possible.
“What do you think I’d look like if I was a girl?”
Nickel couldn’t help but feel caught off guard.
“Oh..”
But Lightbulb could dread and regret! Did he say the wrong thing? Sweat dripped off his bulb.
“Um- probably the same?” Nickel said confused at the sentiment.
“Ya know objects of all genders kind of look the same…”
Lightbulb felt a bit relieved. It could have been worse?
He remained his eye contact with the grass. “I guess so..”
He blushed with embarrassment. “It was a stupid question haha..”
Nickel looked away before getting up and pointing to Baseball.
“Yeah.. I’m gonna go check up on Baseball. You know how much facts about baby carrying storks freak him out!”
Lightbulb frowned. “Mm- yeah..”
Nickel dashed over to Baseball, looking back at Lightbulb with a twinge of judgment.
