Seungmin P.O.V

I was at my grandmas’ place as she made me more heat suppressants. “You should be careful with your suppressants dear,” she said, though she knew why I took them. “Grandma just, let it be, I take care and you know that,” I said, she nodded and moved over to hug me. As she gave me my pill bottle she put it in a bag with a booklet, “It’s the recipe… It’s easy to follow and have pictures of the ingredients… I’m getting weaker so you should learn to make them yourself,” she said and I looked at her, really looked at her and I noticed how small she looked. “I understand… I’ll learn… Don’t leave without saying goodbye,” I whispered and she smiled that warm smile I loved, “I will always be with you Seungmin, always,” she said and her next hug really was a goodbye and I could feel it deep in my chest. She wiped a tear from my cheek, “You’re strong, you’ve been through a lot and even if I’m not here I will always be with you and guide you from your heart,” she whispered and watched me leave. As I left for my new life at university the next morning I sat alone in a quiet compartment on a train as I felt the pain, as if I felt the moment I lost the person who cared the most for me and the one who would soothe my pain. I hid my face in my hoodie and cried silently long enough to be fully composed with no trace of tears once I arrived at the university. With my scent hidden I walked onto the campus and even though my omega status wasn’t noticeable I felt so many eyes on me and it made me want to run but I forced myself to continue to step forward. I got a dorm that my grandma had specially ordered for me, she was famous here but the staff didn’t yet know of her death. I unpacked and checked the recipe that she gave me, she was right it was easy and the photos of the ingredients made it even easier. I sobbed softly again since I was alone in peace before I went to wash up with a special soap I had learned to make myself to help me suppress my scent even more than I could do otherwise. A few days later school started, I took a masters degree in social science with focus on psychology, cultural studies as well as gender and sexuality studies, I was interested in it and it was what I wanted rather than the business administration that my family wanted me to take. My family… Well, on paper maybe but emotionally no, the only one I considered family was my grandma and now I had lost her. I always felt eyes on me when I walked into a lecture, girls would whisper and guys would be jealous since the girls whispers were positive like me being very attractive. I agreed that I wasn’t ugly but also disagreed that I was as attractive as the girls made me out to be. I felt a few alphas present in the halls but none in my classes thankfully, they were all in sports or business administration or anything that made them seem powerful. I didn’t try to make friends, I couldn’t, not yet, because of my past and the loss of my grandma I felt like I couldn’t trust anyone so I kept to myself but always excelled during studies except if I had to talk. I mostly didn’t need to talk which I was fine with, I became something of a legend on campus, the quiet guy who excelled without talking unless necessary. Little did I know that soon someone would see another side of me, little did I know that soon someone would break my barriers slightly. In my course there was a very extroverted guy who was just human like most people here, he was incredibly sweet to everyone and never looked at me with jealousy but rather interest. But as I noticed it wasn’t actually that boy who was fully interested in me but rather his friend that he met every break. I saw them once but when the boy looked at me and talked about me as if reporting about me to his friend I turned and left quickly. I started to avoid the boys’ gaze in class because the one thing I learned was that his friend was an alpha. “But I’m masked right?” I asked myself as I was in my dorm showering with my special soap over and over, fear washing over me in waves that threatened to break me then and there. I composed myself and kept going to class as I kept up my legendary status of the so called quiet, attractive nerd that didn’t really think he was attractive. I enjoyed my studies but I didn’t enjoy all the attention I got, it didn’t make me feel comfortable at all. I never really ate in the cafeteria but rather went back to my dorm since it was quite close to school. I just did everything to minimize contact with others but it was hard as that boy, who I learned was named Felix, and his friend Hyunjin started to try and actually make me ‘notice’ them. Hyunjin was for sure more introverted than Felix but I felt his alpha scent get stronger when I was near and it terrified me. Since my scent was hidden it shouldn’t affect him, that’s what I read when I learned to mask my scent but as I went to bed one night I remembered my grandmas’ words when I told her about it. Grandma had told me that near the right alpha their scent would feel yours even if you’ve masked and as I remember her telling me that I got even more scared. I wasn’t ready to find my alpha and I felt like I would never really be, after the incident nothing scared me more than alphas. The nightmares never disappeared, rough hands grabbing me until I was bruised all over, mating bites that thankfully my grandma knew how to free me from, the excruciating pain when she freed me from the marks and the bruises that would never disappear stuck on my skin as a constant reminder of the horror of my trauma. I was told the only way the bruises would disappear was if I was claimed by an alpha I would stay with and that alpha would treat me kindly, because of that I had completely given up on ever getting rid of the bruises. I never wanted to let an alpha near me again and as I noticed Felix starting to sit closer to me and still seemingly talk about me to his alpha friend Hyunjin I kept moving seats in the lecture hall. As I sat outside in the shade on a late summer day I felt a gaze watching me from a distance, quiet, strong and attentive. I met Hyunjins’ gaze and even though he wasn’t close I felt his presence as if he was right beside me as if he was trying to reach me. I quickly left, I prayed that he would get the hint and finally leave me alone, while something in me told me he wasn’t bad my fear caused by my trauma easily outweighed that voice. Though something unexpected happened as Felix actually stopped trying to come closer to me as if told not to and in fact that was exactly the reason since Hyunjin had gotten my signal slightly this time.

Hyunjin P.O.V

“Jinnie, we’re in the same uni,” Felix cheered as we sat on the train to go to uni, “Do you think we’re going to be in a dorm together?” he continued but I shook my head, “I’m going to be in a solo dorm which is something I requested,” I said calmly and he pouted at me. “You don’t want to be with me?” he asked dramatically which made me sigh, “You know perfectly well it’s not the reason,” I said with a gentle snarl and he instantly nodded. “Alpha things, right,” he said and I nodded and I was happy about having a friend like Felix since he made an effort to understand how the dynamics of omegaverse works. As we got to the university I went to my dorm in a hall with other alphas, it wasn’t as though we were just going around speaking about being alphas but some of the others tried to show it by just being jocks I guess. I didn’t like flaunting that I was an alpha, I also wasn’t out chasing after omegas or betas, instead I spent my days painting and I loved painting Felix and his energy. Felix was a ray of literal sunshine that I had met in middle school and while his energy startled me then I got used to it and knew that whenever he was with me I didn’t need to speak. In contrast to other sunshine people though, Felix actually had common sense to not talk about me being an alpha. As we started classes I was in the art department which shocked a lot of people since the other alphas chose sports or business administration to show how smart or strong they were and how powerful they were. But it didn’t make them treat me as less than them because they knew me as someone powerful even if I wasn’t flaunting it. On our first day in the dorm there had been a bit of a stand-off between all of the other alphas and I had been the one to stop it so if they deemed me weak they knew they would be wrong. Felix was in the social science class and while I walked there with him once I felt my scent get slightly stronger, what confused me was that I didn’t feel any omega scent. “Figure it out will you?” I asked Felix at lunch and he nodded, “I’ll try,” he said and I nodded. I knew it wasn’t easy but the fact that Felix was willing to try and help me meant a lot. If there was actually an omega in his class it was one who strengthened my scent which meant it was important. My studies continued as usual and Felix actually found who it was, it happened as we stood in the hallway talking and only one single person from his class passed by and my scent reacted. “Him?” Felix asked, I nodded, “That guy is a mystery to the whole class, actually to most of uni. He’s quiet but excelled at his studies and girls swoon over him,” Felix said as the guy quickly walked away after glancing briefly at us. “Have you found out his name?” I asked Felix who pulled out a paper, ‘Kim Seungmin’ the paper read and the name etched itself on my mind instantly. “If I find out more I’ll tell you,” Felix said and I hummed before I walked to my next class. Later in my dorm I decided to read up on some stuff that I was curious about regarding omegas and what I learned was fascinating to me. “He keeps moving around the lecture halls so I can’t sit close to him to find out more,” Felix whined, I hummed and didn’t say anything about it. One day in late summer on a warm afternoon I went outside, Felix had gone with some other friends but I didn’t want to go so I just walked around campus until I stopped and became unable to move. A bit away he was, Seungmin sat in the shade reading a book, I wasn’t particularly close but I became certain he was an omega the moment he stared at me despite not feeling his scent and within just a moment he had packed up his things and left. “He’s bothered by me and Felix,” I said quietly to myself, “Ah, he’s so hard to approach,” Felix whined again as he followed me to my lecture. “Then leave him alone, he’s bothered by us,” I said, “How do you know?” Felix asked, “Haven’t you noticed how he always leaves when we arrive and also he’s an omega hiding his scent which I learned the other night that they can if they learn it… Usually omegas who learn it carry trauma or at least don't want to be found,” I explained and Felix stared at me. “So one thing we’ve been doing is kind of put him in a position where he feels exposed and scared?” he asked and I shrugged. “I can’t tell what he’s feeling fully but yes sort of,” I said. Felix promised to back off from Seungmin and give him space after my words. The next time I saw Seungmin he was more relaxed though still on his toes and when he noticed me he still left quickly. I decided to keep my distance as I had done, I didn’t know his reason for hiding his scent and I didn’t really know him so I wasn’t going to push for it especially since he seemed scared of any alpha including me. I just went about my time but I made Felix discreetly continue to keep an eye on Seungmin, not to find out more about him but to be able to tell me in case he turned out to be in danger. The subjects in my art turned out to be more varied now, for one it was because I was in the art department and had tasks to finish but also that I had seen Seungmin and started to draw his quiet and cold shape as a contrast to Felixs’ bubbly energy. My mother called and asked if I had changed my mind about how the pack handled omegas which I had not, the pack I grew up in handled omegas like prizes and that was something I would never do. My mother was disappointed and hung up on me in ice cold rage but I just shrugged and went to Felixs’ dorm to play some games with him since it was friday. Felix asked if it was possible for an omega to not be felt even during heat, “I… What? I mean yes it’s very much possible if they can get heat suppressants,” I said as I stared at him in shock. “Why are you asking that?” I asked, Felix shrugged, “I mean if Seungmin is hiding his scent don’t you think he would be making sure to have something to suppress his heat too?” Felix asked and I hummed. “Don’t speculate too much Lix, I’m not going to chase him or claim him unless he choses it and you know that perfectly well,” I said with a gentle snarl again which made Felix nod since he knew that meant I was serious. We spent our weekend chilling and playing games and exploring the city outside of campus more. I felt like I mostly tagged along since Felix was the extroverted one but it also let me make sure that he was safe. But since I was out and it was the weekend it meant that Seungmin was completely unprotected which I would soon learn was a bad thing. Seungmin didn’t call for me, he didn’t call for any alpha but it seems as though I wasn’t the only one to have figured out what he tried so hard to hide.

Seungmin P.O.V

From the moment Felix started to stay away more I relaxed slightly even though I was still very weary of everything. Part of me understood that Hyunjin had figured out that I was an omega but I didn’t think anyone else had. Hyunjin was respectful and never intentionally strayed too close and if he were too close he would pretend that he didn’t notice me leave quickly. For the first time I felt grateful to an alpha, it felt strange but fine since well he didn’t give me a reason not to be grateful for him. It was the weekend and I opted to stay in my dorm for most of the time but there was a point when I felt the rustling of the leaves outside in the park on the campus almost call out to me. I took my book and went out, I was careful as usual to hide my scent as I walked and then I sat on a bench to read. I think I relaxed a bit too much because soon I was grabbed before I could react and pulled behind a nearby bush. The alpha was over me, strong, intimidating and hungry, his eyes glowed and I froze. I felt those rough hands grip me way too tightly and his breath ghosted over my neck. Panic hit me hard and I cried as I pleaded for him to stop but of course this brute didn’t listen. I felt his teeth graze my skin as he was ready to bite down and mark me by force. I shut my eyes tightly but the pain never came instead the alpha cried out as a low but calm voice talked. “Never and I mean never touch him again,” the voice called as smaller hands took care of the bruises caused by the alpha. “Have you claimed him?” the brute alpha asked and Hyunjin growled, “No I have not and I won’t, but it doesn’t mean you can force yourself on him,” Hyunjin said as his lean frame stood calmly as his hand easily pressed the brute against a nearby tree. The hands caring for me belonged to Felix who worked with careful efficiency, “Jinnie… He has more bruises… Old ones,” Felix said and Hyunjin came over after he made sure the other alpha left with a clear warning. “Seungmin, let me care for you,” Hyunjin said calmly, it wasn’t a demand just a request but I shook my head, “You’re alpha…” I managed, my body was shaking slightly from the traumatic experience. “I swear I won’t try anything, heck I swear in blood if you need me to,” he said, his voice sincere and serious, “I’m scared,” I whispered, I wanted to be strong, to push him away and just walk to my dorm but I couldn’t move. “I beg you,” Hyunjin whispered and I stared at him, I had never seen an alpha beg an omega for anything before and I found myself nodding slowly. Very carefully as if I was made of glass, Hyunjin lifted me off the ground and held me close to his chest as he carried me to my dorm after I begged him not to keep me close to other alphas. “Wow your dorm is so nice,” Felix said in awe and was very excited until Hyunjin snarled gently at him which instantly made him calm down. “Lix I’ll come to you tomorrow,” he said and Felix quickly left after placing my book on my table. Hyunjin laid me on my bed and then sat back. I didn’t look at him, I couldn’t, I was frozen by the alpha scent around me and the awakening of my traumas from earlier. “You’re safe, I won’t hurt you, no one else is here,” his soft voice spoke and instead of being frozen I started to shake. “Will you let me help you?” he asked, “Don’t touch me,” was all I managed, he sighed but stayed back where he sat on the floor about 2 meters away from my bed. “This wasn’t the first time that happened was it?” he asked, his voice still calm and soft, “No it wasn’t… I hate alphas for how they treat me so leave me alone,” I said and he backed away a little more so he was now about 4 meters away from the bed but stayed sat on the floor. “I don’t need anyone, especially no alphas… Leave,” I said, my voice not as strong as I hoped it would be, “Just this once, I’ll leave you alone after today, I promise but for today let me care for you,” he said sincerely. “Promise?” I asked quietly, “I promise, unless you seek me out I won’t bother you at all,” he said and I nodded as I gave in. He slowly moved over to the bed and held his hand out to me, “For starters let me just hold your hand,” he whispered and I hesitantly put my hand in his as he held it gently. His touch was gentle and he didn’t do much other than rubbing circles on the back of my hand with his thumb. His scent was mild but comforting, it was a soft musky scent with a hint of roses which was unusual for alphas. Flowery and fruity scents were mostly on omegas but here was Hyunjin, an alpha with a soft hint of roses in his scent and I’d be lying if I said it didn’t comfort me ever so slightly. He didn’t speak other than occasional whispers like ‘You’re safe now’ and ‘Relax’, it made me want to cry, to let him hold me as I fell apart but I couldn’t as my fear of alphas were still too strong and it was a miracle that I even let him stay here and hold my hand like he did. “Why?” I asked quietly and he chuckled, “Why what? You have to be more specific,” he said, his hand never stopping to try and comfort me. “Why are you being so respectful? You don’t act like an alpha at all… Why are you treating me like I’m normal and not just a prize? Are you sure you are an alpha?” I asked everything at once and he laughed, it was a soft and actually rather pleasant sound. “If I started to act like you expect alphas to act, I think you’d run and get traumatised just by being close to me. I don’t want to be that for you, I treat you with respect and keep my distance because it’s what you want and what you deserve. You’re not just a prize, you’re a treasure and no treasure shines under pressure or force,” he said and I turned my head to stare at him. “My family would agree with your view on alphas though, so if I had listened to them I wouldn’t be friends with Felix and also not treat you like this,” he said, “My family act like I don’t exist… Like I’m dead to them… But if they see me they send brute alphas on me,” I whispered and a low growl escaped him. “If that happens I will rip every brute alpha to shreds,” he snarled and I stared at him again. “You will still leave me alone after today like you promised, right?” I asked and he hummed, “I will but if you need me I’ll be there the moment you call for me,” he promised and then he turned slightly fidgety. “Seungmin, I know this will be bad of me to ask but can you very gently let me feel your scent, I won’t do anything as I promised but I just want to learn it,” he asked quietly and I whimpered but very gently let him feel it. “Passionfruit and lilies but also something musky to show that you’re male,” he whispered in awe before I hid my scent again. “Thank you, now sleep,” he whispered as he still held my hand. Despite my lingering fear and the fact that there was an alpha in my presence, inside my dorm, I fell asleep quite fast as Hyunjin hummed soft melodies. When I woke up he wasn’t there anymore but I felt warm and relaxed for the first time in a while. I sat up and while the fresh bruises still hurt, some of the old pain had faded, my eyes widened as I went to shower and noticed that a few of my old bruises and bite marks were gone. I stared at the places where they should have been, “Hold up now… I didn’t make a promise to stay with him,” I told myself but reminded myself not to complain before I went into the shower and washed off. Other than a letter on my bedside table there wasn’t a single trace of Hyunjin in my dorm. I looked at the letter but I was scared to open it so I just left it there. It was sunday so I stayed inside the whole day, I didn’t dare to go outside after yesterday. I prepared for the classes I had the next day and just tried to relax but my mind kept wandering back to Hyunjin and not in the way I usually thought about alphas. The next day as I went to class I was back to my ‘mysterious’ self, I was not about to show anyone the vulnerability I showed Hyunjin during the weekend. I felt Felix watch me but he stayed distant and something in me found comfort in him watching me like I had a guardian angel. The letter from Hyunjin still laid on my bedside table untouched but as I got back to my dorm after classes I had dinner and then I finally decided to read it. ‘I know you’re scared, I know alphas aren’t what you want around you but I want you to know that everything I told you stays true. I won’t do anything unless you ask me to, I won’t approach you unless you’re in danger and I will let you come to me if you need me. Whatever happens next is your choice but seeing as you’re in the same class as Felix I have asked him to do his best to be a guardian angel of sorts and if the situation feels unsafe he will tell me unless you yourself call for me. I won’t bother you but I’m only a call away mentally or phone, /Hyunjin’ . I stared at the words for close to 15 minutes, I couldn’t believe what I read but I also couldn’t help but smile. I felt the slight musky scent with a hint of roses on the paper and it made me feel a bit lighter. I hoped that I wouldn’t have to feel unsafe to make me need him but I also relaxed into the idea of him just being a call away. So many thoughts about an alpha and the feeling of suddenly feeling like I wanted to depend on him, that I wanted to have him close and that I felt seen in a nice way for once. It all culminated in a brutal nightmare that felt so real it was as if everything that has ever happened to me was happening again even though I was supposed to be in the safety of my dorm. Every bite, every grip and every beating, I felt them, they felt so real it was hard to believe I was still asleep and my mind called out for the only name that popped up, Hyunjin. I screamed and cried so hard, I was still asleep but it felt as though I was wide awake right back to those nights.

Hyunjin P.O.V

I got back to the dorm from a late night walk with Felix but something felt off and then I heard it, a cry inside my heart, a cry for help and as Felix watched I ran fast towards Seungmins’ dorm. I didn’t have a key but I managed to open his door anyway. The sight as I entered his bedroom broke my heart, he was thrashing, clearly in pain and tears were streaming down his face mixed with sweat as he screamed and cried completely broken. I rushed over and touched his hand lightly as I let my scent fill the air around him like a bubble, “Seungmin, wake up it’s a nightmare, you’re safe,” I kept calling and soon as I squeezed his hand extra tight he shot up into a sitting position and stared into nothing in front of him. “I’m here, I’ll keep you safe,” I said and he looked at me first without recognition but soon he noticed that it was me. “Hyunjin,” he sobbed weakly, “I’m here,” I whispered back as I opened my arms as an offer to him. After some hesitation he buried his face in my neck and clung to me like I was the only solid thing there, grounding himself by clinging to me as his body shook with sobs of fear, pain and trauma. I held him tight as I just let him cry, “It’s okay let it out, you’re safe, I won’t let anyone hurt you again,” I whispered, “It felt so real,” he sobbed, “I can tell,” I whispered back as I assured him it wasn’t real and that it really was just a nightmare. “Does it hurt?” I asked him as I rubbed his back to calm him down, I felt him nod against my neck and I made him look at me. “It wasn’t real, it didn’t happen now, your body is just remembering the pain,” I whispered while I made my scent even stronger but made sure it didn’t leave his dorm or even his bedroom. “Hyunjin… What if… What if you become like that… What if I accept you and then you turn on me and become like them,” he sobbed and I could tell from his eyes that this was a real fear of his. “Never, I swear on my own life that I will never be a monster like that,” I said, my eyes holding his and my gaze never wavering. “Seungmin I know you’re afraid and I’m not asking you to accept me, I just need you to understand that if you ever need me like tonight or last weekend I will be right there,” I said and he looked at me with wide vulnerable eyes. It was a far cry from the Seungmin that Felix would describe in class, this Seungmin was an omega, still hiding his scent slightly but he was still an omega and a very beautiful omega at that. Here completely broken and scared in my arms he was shivering even as I wrapped his blanket around us. “I think… I think I belong to you,” he whispered, it was so quiet I barely caught it but as the words reached my ears my heart skipped a beat. “Don’t force it Seungmin,” I whispered but he shook his head, “That’s not it but the thing is that the old scars… They faded… The scars I was told would only disappear when I found an alpha to stay with… An alpha who would treat me kindly and the scars I had accepted I would carry all my life,” he said, his voice small and I could tell it was hard for him to admit this. “If it’s what you want I’m not pushing you away but I want you to be sure, it’s a big decision and I don’t want it to be forced, I am patient especially for you… Just call for me when you’re sure and ready,” I said and he grabbed onto my shirt as if he was afraid I was going to leave. I held him tighter, “Do you want me to stay for the rest of the night?” I asked and he nodded slowly, “Please stay… I don’t want to be alone,” he whispered and told him to wait as I got off the bed. “I won’t leave just getting a damp cloth,” I said as I saw his panicked gaze, he nodded again and I walked to the bathroom and got a soft towel that I made damp with cold water. As I got back he looked up at me, “Can you take off your t-shirt for me?” I asked and he hugged his upper body, “You’re sweaty I need to clean you and it’ll calm you,” I said and let him take his shirt off at his own pace. He looked away from me, I saw him shivering, “Good boy,” I said and he froze as his gaze snapped to mine. “You don’t like that?” I asked, he thought about it a little, “I… I like it when you say it but I have heard it in more menacing ways,” he whispered and I hummed as I sat beside him. “Give me your arm,” I said softly and he obeyed, a small yelp escaped him as the cold cloth touched his warm skin, “The other arm,” I said after finishing the first and then I went over his shoulders, neck and as I started on his chest his breath came in small, shallow puffs. “Minnie?” I asked, trying a nickname to see if he reacted to it, “More… Please… Burns,” he whimpered and my eyes widened, “Fuck… Minnie… Do you want it to hit or take suppressants? You have them right?” I asked and he nodded, “Suppress, please… It burns I’m not ready,” he whimpered as he broke through the fog. I managed to find the bottle and gave him one of the pills, “Swallow,” I ordered and he obeyed perfectly but since his heat had already started to hit it took a bit longer before the pill worked so I continued to wipe him off with the cold cloth. “You’re doing so well, I’m here,” I whispered as I held him and slowly but surely he cooled down and practically went limp against my chest. “Does this always happen when you take them?” I asked but he shook his head, “No, usually I take them on time and then it’s fine I just get sleepy but now it had already started and then I go completely weak once I’m cooled off,” he admitted and I laid us down in his bed as I held him close. “You can move away if you want, you can tell me I’m too close or too much,” I said and he hummed but didn’t push me away, instead he snuggled closer and breathed in my scent as he relaxed more than I had thought possible. “Sleep well Minnie, we’ll talk in the morning,” I whispered and he hummed and soon he was asleep. I kept my scent there as a shield for his dreams so that he could sleep peacefully. In the morning I woke up and he was staring at me, his eyes wide with fear, confusion and a lack of memories from the night, a soft scent of musky passionfruit and lilies were mingling with my musky scent with its hint of roses. “Don’t panic,” I whispered, he nodded slowly as I pressed a kiss to his forehead which made him remember the night. “You stayed,” he whispered to which I nodded, “You asked me to,” I smiled and he hummed. “You’re still scared right?” I asked, he nodded slowly as he looked away from me but I made him look back into my eyes, “I’m not going to force anything on you, whatever will be is up to you and you need to be true to yourself,” I said. “You’re patient with me,” he whispered, “Exactly,” I said and he sat up, “You want breakfast?” he asked quietly, “I won’t refuse that invitation,” I smiled as he got up and put on an oversized hoodie that made him look so soft and cute. I watched him as he left the bedroom, I could tell from his body language that he was still very confused and scared. “Anything you don’t eat?” he asked me as I stepped into his kitchen, “Other than eggplants I eat mostly everything,” I said and he hummed and started to make pancakes. “Do you like the nickname?” I asked, he turned his head to me in confusion, “Minnie, do you like when I call you that?” I asked to explain further and he nodded with a light blush covering his cheeks. “Minnie,” I said, he turned his face away but I could tell he was smiling ever so slightly as his cheeks and neck were tinted a deeper shade of pink. Soon he served a plate of pancakes to me, “Thank you…” he whispered, “For what?” I asked as I hummed at the sweet taste of the pancakes. I watched him as he tried to find his words, “For… Offering me heat suppressants last night… You could have so easily taken advantage of the situation but you didn’t… You asked me and accepted my choice,” he said, his gaze glued to the floor, his voice quiet and his sweetly fresh scent reaching for me. “Minnie…” I put my fork down as I stood up and walked over to him, he was just slightly shorter than me but right now he seemed so small. I lifted his chin so that our gazes met, “If I would’ve taken advantage of you in that vulnerable moment I would’ve broken every rule I set for myself when it comes to you, I would’ve broken your very shaky trust… I was not about to break something that precious,” I said. He sniffled slightly and I offered him a hug, he hesitated but less than last night before he buried his face against my shoulder and practically melted into my arms. “Good Minnie, you’re starting to accept,” I whispered as I picked him up carefully before I moved to the chair again where I sat down with him on my lap. “My heart has already been accepting since I saw my old wounds gone after the night you held my hand… My mind was and still is a bit slower,” he whispered which made me smile and I pressed a light kiss to his shoulder. “Minnie, I know you said you think you belong to me but that doesn’t express what you want or feel… So I want to ask you properly… Seungmin, will you be my omega?” I asked and he stared at me, hesitation clear in his gaze. “It won’t change any of my earlier promises, I won’t do anything you don’t want me to, it’ll all be at your pace and I will only mark you and forge our bond once you’re ready and only if you want to,” I added, my voice filled with sincerity and promise. His gaze searched mine and after what felt like an eternity he nodded slowly, “Yes, I will be your omega… But if you break any promise I’m leaving in an instant,” he said quietly, “I know and I won’t break them,” I whispered before I ever so gently pressed a kiss to his lips. He froze for a moment but soon he melted into me and his lips moved with mine, the movement of his lips was slow and unsure and I found it adorable. “I’ve never had a kiss like that before,” he whispered as we pulled apart, “I know but I’ll give them to you whenever you want,” I whispered back and it was a clear promise.

Seungmin P.O.V

I couldn’t believe it, after Hyunjin left my dorm with the promise to come back later or if I called for him I sat on my sofa curled up in a way I hadn’t been for a long time. My head was filled to the brim with thoughts, feelings and more questions than answers, I wanted guidance but I of course couldn’t reach my grandma anymore and so I started to cry. “Minnie… Are you crying?” Hyunjin asked through a mental link we had established, “I am but it’s fine… I just miss my grandma,” I replied and he hummed, “I’ll be there if you need me,” he said, “Can you come a little earlier than said, like around lunch?” I asked which made him chuckle, “Of course,” he said and then he focused away from the link. He had lectures today but I didn’t and neither did Felix but because of Felixs’ extroverted personality he had been told by Hyunjin to not disturb me unless told to. Around lunch-time there was a knock on my door so I went and looked, Hyunjin stood there with a bag of food and a rather calm Felix by his side so I let them into the dorm. “Sorry for being so… Bouncy and excitable,” Felix said with a sheepish smile, “It’s okay, you’ve been looking over me and also you took care of my bruises that day,” I said shyly and he smiled brighter and nodded. “Mind if he joins us for lunch?” Hyunjin asked, “It’s fine,” I said, “It’s good if you get used to each other and how the other works since well you both will be hanging with me and it would be good if Felix could actually sit close and interact with you in lectures and studying too since you’re in the same,” he added and I nodded slowly. I felt Hyunjin study me intently, before he told Felix to set up the food at my kitchen table and then he pulled me into my bedroom. “Talk to me,” he said, “About what?” I asked quietly, “Do you feel uncomfortable with Felix present?” he asked and I froze, “Not at lunch now but… I’m scared about inside the lecture halls and such… No one interacts with me you know and if I’m suddenly close to the most extroverted guy on campus it’ll be chaos…” I admitted and he hummed. “Is it fine with him being around as your guardian angel as he has been so far?” he asked and I nodded, “It’s been comforting,” I whispered, “Then he can keep that up but gradually move closer, let it go at your pace and tell me or him if he needs to take a step back or so,” he said and I nodded slowly. “I’m sorry,” I whispered, “It’s okay Minnie, I’m glad you told me,” he said and kissed my forehead. He gently pulled me to my kitchen where Felix had set up the food, “It looks good,” I said quietly. “Seungmin, can I ask something?” Felix asked as he looked at me and shifted nervously on his feet, I nodded slowly, “So Jinnie kind of showed me his scent… I have a weaker nose of course since I’m a normal human but he had a way to do that… Can you do it too?” he asked and I stared at him. “I can… Do you want me to?” I asked my voice very shy, Felix nodded, “Yes, I do,” he admitted carefully as if he was scared he would cause me to run. I took a deep breath before I nodded slowly and with a flick of my finger I sent a small trail of scent to Felixs’ nose and he took a deep breath. “Passionfruit and… What’s that flower? I know it…” Felix tried to figure it out, “Lilies,” Hyunjin said, “Yes, that’s it, it’s a bit musky though…” Felix said, “That’s because Seungmin is male,” Hyunjin explained and Felix smiled and nodded in understanding. “Thank you,” he said, I gave him a small smile back and then we sat down to eat. After lunch Felix left to hang out with some other friends but Hyunjin stayed with me, “You did so well,” he whispered as we sat on my sofa and I was melting into his side, “He’s kind, just very extroverted,” I said and Hyunjin chuckled in agreement. We didn’t speak more for a bit, just sat there in silence as we let our scents mingle, “If I ever ask you to properly claim me will you hesitate?” I asked after a while, “Depends on how you’re asking and the situation we’re in,” he said and I hummed. “So if it would be a desperate situation and I’m pleading for it would you hesitate or do it?” I asked and he looked into my eyes, “I would ask if you're sure unless it was the only way to save your life then I wouldn’t hesitate,” he said with full sincerity. I felt safer knowing that if it was a matter of my life then he wouldn’t hesitate but also knowing he’d make sure I was sure before doing it. As I went back to classes the next day Felix sat closer but still not too close but somehow I was also more relaxed the only thing was that I still hid my scent. One afternoon as I was waiting outside to meet Hyunjin once he finished his lecture I was cornered by a group of alphas and just guys in general. “Well, this is the little nerd that Hyunjin has taken interest in,” one said, “An omega without a mark well that means he’s not owned by Hyunjin yet,” another grinned. I felt myself shake as I called out to Hyunjin in my head, one of the alphas who seemed like the leader reached towards me but his hand was quickly slapped away by Hyunjin who seemed to appear out of thin air. “Don’t touch him,” he snarled and the others stared at him, “Why not, it’s not like he’s yours since you haven’t marked him?” one of the other alphas asked. “Because I’m being respectful and waiting until he’s ready,” Hyunjin said and the others looked at him as if he was crazy, “It’s an omega, why give him a choice? I mean it’s their duty to be owned by an alpha,” one said but Hyunjin growled. “So since you haven’t claimed him, he’s fair game,” the leader said, “I will claim him when he’s ready and that’s that… I will rip apart anyone who even tries to take him by force,” Hyunjin growled and I grabbed his shirt. “Jinnie… Do it… Now… Please… I don’t want situations like this anymore… I don’t want to feel hunted like a pray anymore…” I pleaded, Hyunjin looked at me. “Only if it’s your choice and not because of them,” he said, his voice stern but soft, “It’s both… Please Jinnie,” I whispered as I felt tears prickle my eyes. He put up a scent barrier through which the others could see but not reach, “I will always cherish you as an equal and not just as my omega but as my mate,” he said, his voice clear before he pressed a gentle kiss to my neck at the spot he would mark me. It was completely quiet, the others just stared and I noticed Felix had appeared too, soon I broke the silence with a gasp in pain as Hyunjins’ teeth sank through my skin as he marked me as his. The trauma from my past flooded back which made me cry but he held me like I was the most precious thing in the world as the bond was formed. When he lifted his head from my neck I went limp in his arms so he picked me up. “Now there’s nothing more any of you can say,” he said to the others who were all stunned and with Felix behind us he carried me to my dorm.

Hyunjin P.O.V

I asked Felix to get a damp towel from the bathroom after I had laid Seungmin on the bed, my mark still bleeding slightly on his neck. “Was that desperation or what was that?” Felix asked quietly as he handed me the towel, “It was a lot of desperation but I would tell he wanted it once I looked into his eyes,” I said as I cleaned sweat from Seungmins’ forehead and blood from his neck. “So he’s more safe now right?” Felix asked, I nodded, “There might be other changes too but we’ll see, every omega can react differently to being marked,” I explained and Felix hummed as he decided to go and buy some food for all 3 of us. While Felix was gone Seungmin woke up as he had fainted shortly before we actually got to his dorm. As he looked at me he smiled, the smile was brighter than I expected, “Thank you,” he whispered and reached for me as if he wanted a hug which I didn’t deny him. As I wrapped my arms around him he clung tightly to me and I felt him still smile against my neck. “I never thought this would ever be possible,” he whispered, “I know but I found you and made it possible for you to feel this,” I whispered and he agreed. “I love you,” he whispered, I felt my heart skip a beat, “Are you sure… Love is a strong word,” I said and he looked at me, his gaze unwavering and as he spoke it was with none of the fear from before, “I let you mark me… I asked you to… Do you really think I would if I didn’t love you?” he asked and I smiled because I knew he was right. “Fair enough,” I whispered and pressed a gentle kiss to his lips which he returned as he melted against me and his scent bloomed as it had never done before. The new strength I felt from him made me excited for what was to come. I didn’t know at all how he would be in class and such but I could feel that he had changed in some way. As Felix came back we had food and the whole time I noticed Felix kept glancing at Seungmin as if he could also feel the change. “What?” Seungmin asked, his voice slightly whiny, which I found very cute but Felix looked shocked, “Nothing just feels like something has changed,” Felix said and Seungmin blushed. Seungmin then touched the mark on his neck which drew Felixs’ eyes, “What does it make you feel?” Felix asked and Seungmin thought for a moment. “Safe, warm, relaxed and… More… I don’t know… I don’t think confident is the right word but I do feel stronger and as if I’m not alone in this roller coaster called life anymore,” he said and both Felix and I smiled, “That’s how it should be,” I said and he hummed as he finished eating and leaned into me. “Why don’t you talk to the school board and get to live together?” Felix asked which made both of us look at him, “It’s very early on still,” I said but Seungmin looked at me pouting like a pup. “You’ve marked me… Where is the early part?” he asked, his voice whiny and it made Felix laugh quietly as he looked at my stunned expression. “If you want to…” I whispered in defeat, “Jinnie… Do you still not understand?” Seungmin asked, his bottom-lip quivered slightly, “Minnie, don’t cry, I guess habits die slowly,” I said and he huffed and left the table and soon I heard the bedroom door close. I stared at the closed door in shock before I looked at Felix who was just cleaning up the aftermath of the food. “Jinnie, you got to mark him and while it seems he’s just being dramatic I think you need to try harder to let those habits die… It does really seem like he wants you to live with him,” he said before he finished cleaning up and left the dorm. I sat there in the kitchen for a moment longer before I finally snapped out of it and went to the bedroom door, “Minnie, I’m sorry, I want to live with you so let’s talk to the school board tomorrow shall we?” I asked and he opened and looked at me, his eyes filled with tears but no tears had fallen. “I know and remember now that you’ve marked me, you've cleared the biggest hurdle and I think you need to understand that,” he said and I tilted my head. “I do understand that but I don’t understand what that has to do with this…” I admitted and he sighed, “If you still feel the need to ask if I’m sure every time I ask for something then I feel like you don’t trust me…” he said and I could see his lips quivering again. I quickly pulled him into a tight hug, “Minnie… Thank you, for telling me,” I whispered as I held him, “Let’s live together,” he pleaded as he gripped my shirt tightly, “Of course,” I whispered back and tilted his head before I locked our lips together sweetly. That night he slept in my arms but without the fear of a nightmare, without the feeling of distress and it was very comfortable as our bodies curled into each other like puzzle pieces that fit together. In the morning as I woke up I was alone, I heard the shower and soft humming so I just laid there and listened to him. Soon he walked out wrapped in a very cosy bathrobe, “Cute,” I said and he blushed bright red, “Can I watch you or do I need to look away?” I asked which made his face even more red. “You… You can watch,” he said shyly and turned his back to me before he let the bathrobe fall off his shoulders into a pile on the floor. I couldn’t look away, his body wasn’t too muscular, it was very lean but very defined and his skin looked so smooth as most bruises had disappeared. “You’re very beautiful,” I said, my voice slightly strained as I held back from going and just touch him all over, not to mate but just to let my hands feel his skin. “Once we live together you can touch but I will tell you if you’re going too far,” he said quietly as his blush spread down his neck. “I will only go as far as you let me,” I said while I watched him get dressed. As I had gotten dressed too we were about to leave and meet up with Felix on the walk from campus to the school, “Minnie, your scent,” I said warningly, “What about it?” he asked, “You’re not going to hide it?” I asked in disbelief and he looked at me. “Do you want me to hide my scent for any reason?” he asked but I shook my head, “If you think about it, the other alphas already know I’m an omega so why hide it?” he asked and I had to admit he had a point so I said nothing more about it. We got our wish through with the school board as apparently Seungmins’ grandma had been very well known here so if he wished for something they could make it happen. After classes I moved out of my dorm and of course Felix helped out. I was happy of course but I also think I forgot how much time had actually passed until I got back after walking Felix back to his dorm. Seungmin was in our bed sweating and whimpering in a way that put my alpha senses on high alert. I scrambled to find his suppressants but as I presented them to him he shook his head and pointed to me instead with a gaze that nearly ended me. “Minnie,” I said but his gaze shut me up, “Please,” he whimpered and I swear I folded. “Want your alpha to care for you through the heat baby?” I asked my voice dropping, “Please alpha… I need you,” he practically moaned the words, “Then you will have me,” I said as I undressed myself and went into bed with him. God was I happy it was friday because I knew damn well that neither of us would leave this bed for the weekend unless necessary and I made sure Felix too knew we would be unavailable. Seungmins’ scent was amazing as it mixed fully with mine, the sounds he made as well as his expressions added to the experience. “Mine, all mine,” I moaned as I buried myself in him and released, “All yours,” he moaned as his back arched and he painted our chests white. “I love you,” I whispered as I stayed buried in him, “I love you too,” he whispered back as he curled into me while he enjoyed the fullness. “We mated,” he whispered sleepily, “We did baby,” I whispered back and tilted his head so I could kiss him. In the morning I had slipped out of him, “Do you feel okay?” I asked him, “A bit sore but less burning,” he whispered, “You know we’re not leaving this bed all weekend unless you say we should,” I said and he nodded. “I wouldn’t say I’m satisfied and I just said less burning not no burning,” he giggled, not chuckled but giggled, which made me grin, “Of course you’re not,” I hummed. Once the weekend was over he was mine in every way possible. I was so in love with my omega, so in love with my Seungmin and that was my forever.
