Summary
Ranma and Akane had a beautiful ceremony with friends and family when they were 18, right out of high school. Akane went to university to get a degree in medicine, hoping to start her own clinic like Dr Tofu. Ranma stayed home and continued to practice Anything Goes Martial Arts.
Akane wasn't just his fiance anymore - she was his wife. They spent a lot of time together, making up for all the time they wasted fighting off other suitors. It took time for them to tell each other how they felt, of course. Sometimes it felt like Ranma married his friend instead of a girlfriend or fiance.
But he wanted desperately to show Akane that she was important to him. She was not a possession to win or lose; she was a ray of hope that he was lovable despite his curse.
