Work Text:
Buck was just finished washing the dishes and was drying his hands when he was slowly spun around by soft touches around his hips. Eddie leaned up to kiss him softly, taking the towel from his hands and setting it on the countertop before taking his hands and pulling him into the open area of the kitchen, hands still on his hips. He let himself be drawn into an easy sway, humming along to the song playing over the speaker when the lyrics finally registered.
Eddie, however, was singing, his voice low and his Texas accent coming through slightly. “Feel the music playing soft and slow. You and me and the lights down low. With nothing on but the radio.”
He hummed lightly, contemplating their various schedules. The suggestion was definitely feasible, especially since Chris was with Abuela for the weekend at her urging. He smiled softly at Eddie, tipping his head forward to rest their foreheads together for a short moment before leaning into a soft kiss that definitely did not stay that way as Eddie ran his hand up his back, under his shirt, urging him to follow along with his movements. It took his a little bit to realize that he was being led down the hallway and to the bedroom, but he had no complaints about where this was headed.

They had moved the coffee table out of the way after getting Chris to bed and were several songs into the playlist that Eddie had put together for them a while ago that they normally played in the evening. Today was a little out of the ordinary as it was not just playing while they did their evening chores before going to bed; The song changed and slowed, so he drew Buck into his arms to sway more than anything else.
“Well, it might be me, but the way I see it the whole wide world has gone crazy. So, baby, why don't we just dance?” he sung quietly, bopping a little back and forth before dipping in to kiss Buck with a small grin that was returned as he pulled back. The way that his partner followed his lead sometimes almost left him breathless. The trust that he showed through that was amazing and he was seriously contemplating the request that Buck had made after finding out that Eddie had a little bit of experience with a dance he had found that he was interested in.

Eddie laughed brightly, spinning Buck out from him in the middle of their small backyard with the music coming from the speaker that was normally kept in the kitchen sitting on the table they had recently put out on the back patio. Chris was cheering them on as Eddie attempted to teach Buck a little bit of the swing dancing he had grown up with. Buck was definitely a little clumsy and not the best at the steps yet, but the trust he placed in Eddie's hands was heady. Not that the way he placed his life in Eddie's hands was not telling enough, but dancing was different for him.
With the successful completion of this spin, Buck cheered for himself, prompting laughs from both of the Diazes.
Eddie did not realize that he was singing along to the last of the song after their laughter died down. “Well, you get down the fiddle and you get down the bow. You kick off your shoes and you throw ‘em on the floor. Dance in the kitchen to the morning light. Louisiana Saturday night.”

“Come on, Eddie,” Buck pouted, giving him the best puppy dog eyes that he could muster up. “Dance with me.”
“This isn't really my kind of dancing, Buck,” he protested, looking out at the crowd with a little apprehension. It looked mostly like grinding, which he had no problem with. His issues had more to do with the crowd than anything else, but his partner was looking at him like that and he did not have that much resistance built up to the look.
Hen and Karen laughed at his far from graceful giving in after a couple of minutes of buck's pleading look. Hen called after them that she did not expect them back as Karen told Buck to ‘get some’ as their fingers tangled together and Buck led Eddie out towards the dance floor. Maybe Eddie could lean into that and get Buck out of there quickly. After all, Athena and Bobby were hosting the kids, so the house was empty and they had not driven to the club themselves, so all he needed to do was order an Uber to take them home. They would arrive quickly since drivers stayed nearby.
