Nico's POV:
SCREECH!
I jolted out of my sleep and somehow had fallen on my ground.
“First day of school, Nico! Can’t be late,” Hazel said from the hallway, probably going to make breakfast.
SCREECH!
I blocked my ears. Hazel had figured out how to have a T-Rex screech play on loop on my speaker. Yet couldn’t figure out how to use a camera?
I got off the floor and quickly stopped it from playing.
“Gods……can’t I at least get more rest?” I said, mostly to myself as I grabbed a black ‘My Chemical Romance’ shirt and put it on, as well as a nice pair of black skinny jeans, black converse and my aviator jacket, with the italian flag and gay mlm flag on it because Will being all hot and charming ask me if I could for him. On his doctor's satchel, he has a bisexual pin, so pretty much we’re matching in a way.
I grabbed my bag, phone, and headphones and left my room, leaving it in the mess it was, and headed downstairs to where Hazel was with Frank.
It didn’t take a rocket scientist to realise Frank had stayed over tonight, like they do every Monday night for some reason.
We still had an Australian flag on the wall from yesterday because it was Australia Day (Jan 25th). Hazel slid a plate with two slices of toast on them, buttered.
“Thanks, Haze.”
“No, problem, Nico. Tell Will, I said hi.”
“I will, don’t worry.”
“Bye, Nico, you forgot your badge.”
I looked down at my shirt and realised I had forgotten my ‘Demigod High’/’East Wood High School’ badge.
“Just wear mine, I’ll grab yours. Else you’ll miss your bus to Will’s house and won’t be able to get to school,” Hazel said, putting her badge on mine, as I grabbed my toast from the plate and left it on the counter.
“See you at school,” She said to me as she walked over to Frank and kissed him. I nearly gagged at the sight as I walked out the door and to my bus stop. PDA (Public Displays of Affection) was never something I liked seeing.
I got on the bus just in time, sitting at an empty seat, next to none other than Leo Valdez.
“Heya Nico,” He said, as I set my bag down between my legs. I ignored him and put my black headphones on, beginning to listen to my music.
I got off the bus once it got to my stop, reaching Will’s house, of course, he was waiting outside for me.
Without warning, he picked me up and spun me around, kissing me quickly before setting me down on the ground.
“What the fuck, William! You know I don’t like PDA!”
“I couldn’t resist. You look so damn hot right now, Darlin’, “ Will answered, with his perfect, attractive southern drawl, that he had picked up from his mother who was raised in Texas, USA.
He took me inside, where his mother was.
“Hi, Nico,” She said, from the kitchen where she was making waffles.
“Hey Naomi,” I answered as Will took me into the living room and put the TV on.
“What do you wanna watch, Neeks?”
“Don’t call me that, William. But maybe just something on a random TV channel?” I suggested, leaning up against Will. I wouldn’t admit this aloud, but Will had kinda made me soft and a little more cuddly towards those I like and trust. Damn son of Apollo.
“Ghostbusters?” Will asked, scrolling through the movies he had brought out.
“Yeah, why the fuck not?”
“Language, Niccolo,” Will scolded as he started playing the movie. Halfway through, Naomi drove us to school and dropped us off at the front, the words ‘Demigod High’ blared at us in silver on a sign. To regular mortals, it read East Wood High School, and no normal mortals, other than those who could see through my mist, were allowed to attend.
Will and I walked through the front entry and to our respective lockers, which, with a few pleas from Principal Chiron, were able to happen; we placed our bags inside them and headed to where the rest of our group was. Reyna, Annabeth, Percy, Leo, Grover, Piper, Jason, Hazel, and Frank were all sitting at a table together under a tree when we reached them, taking a seat at the end.
“So….how were everyone’s holidays?” Annabeth asked, holding hands with Percy above the table. Everyone gave a collective ‘good’ with some people saying ‘alright’ mixed in.
We all kept talking about what we did on the holidays. Percy and Annabeth went to the beach, Jason and Piper went to movies and the shopping center several times, and Hazel and Frank mainly just watched movies, and Leo just worked at the mechanic shop where he worked. Reyna said that she went on a camping trip, and Will and I said that we just hung out at various places.
The bell rang, freeing us from the conversation as we headed to our roll class (homeroom).
Leo, Will, Hazel, Frank, Jason, Piper, and I were all grade 10 and in the same core classes (English, Math, Science, HPE, Humanities), but scattered through electives. Reyna was in Grade 11, Percy, Annabeth, and Grover were all in Grade 12.
Halfway through the day, the whole school was summoned to the performance centre (Gym). For a special message.
All 400 students and staff were present, as all they did was just host an entire ‘Welcome back to another year of school’ assembly. Which was boring as hell. When we were finally freed, it was lunch, and I went to find Will, so we could sit somewhere else. Away from our friends for some alone time. Since on the holidays, we always had one of Will’s half-siblings with us and were never actually alone together to do couple stuff.
Then I noticed two figures, one in a black suit, with long shoulder-length black hair, pale olive skin, and brown eyes, and another with golden yellow hair, wearing a yellow chiton and gold eyes. Both talking to each other.
Apollo and Hades.
